Then you need to meet more.

When did the Church say She sinned? The last Pope apologized for the way some in the Church acted. That is no proof the Church sinned, nor is it proof all the crusades were unjust.
an apology is an attempt to amend for wrongs committed.
unless youre thinking of the OTHER way to apologize, what is it? oh! lip service!
that pope, what a sincere guy!

im sure it wasnt 100%, just as i know it wasnt 0%, but again, since well never actually know how many were ever accused of it, since not all molestation gets reported, and the church would shuffle around many who were accused.
how about you? do you know? or did you ever even care enough to ask why it was ever allowed to happen in the first place? or do you deny it ever happened?
Is it important?

How far back should a study go in your opinion?

There is a distinction between the sinless Church and the sinners within the Church. IOW, She cannot teach error, but humans can sin.

the church is those who run it.
thats like saying the government is blameless, but the people IN government arent. thats insane troll logic.

is it important? not really, i dont care. i just thought we had a synergy going.
and what kind of study are you talking about? a study that tracks roving pedophile priests being hidden within the church by the church?
THAT would indeed be interesting to read.

i dont know what that is, but i dont trust anything with two first names.
The Nature and Scope of the Problem
of Sexual Abuse of Minors
by Catholic Priests and Deacons
in the United States

A Research Study Conducted by the
John Jay College of Criminal Justice

usccb.org/nrb/johnjaystudy/
In June 2002 the full body of Catholic bishops of the United States in their General Meeting in Dallas approved the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The Charter created a National Review Board, which was assigned responsibility to commission a descriptive study, with the full cooperation of the dioceses/eparchies, of the nature and scope of the problem of sexual abuse of minors by clergy. The National Review Board engaged the John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York to conduct research, summarize the collected data and issue a summary report to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops of its findings.
Would by nice to see a definitive study of the abuse by homosexual teachers of their students in public school systems.
Thus, for example, in both actual numbers and percentages, sexual abuse of children by teachers, coaches, and employees in public schools exceeds anything that occurred in Catholic institutions. Furthermore, in contrast to Catholic institutions, sexual abuse of children in public schools is still occurring in significant numbers. Prof. Carol Shakeshaft, an expert cited by Hamilton, told Education Week, “So we think the Catholic Church has a problem? . . . The physical sexual abuse of students in [public] schools is likely more than 100 times the abuse by priests.”
The difference between the problem in the Catholic Church and the continuing problem in public schools is likely greater than that. The *2007 Annual Report *prepared by the Catholic bishops identifies fifteen allegations of childhood sexual abuse in the American Catholic Church from 2000 to 2007—an average of less than two per year. The 2007 Associated Press investigation identifies 2,570 public school teachers who, from 2001 through 2005, had their teaching licenses “taken away, denied, surrendered voluntarily, or restricted” as a result of sexual misconduct with minors—an average of 514 per year.

This doesn’t break it down to same sex or opposite sex but I still wonder:hmmm:
Where is the outrage for the cover up being done concerning the America’s public school system? Guess school teachers have a better union. and advocate - that is; the devil’s advocate.🤷

One can never convince the worldly of anything spiritual. It is futility. The carnal man simply can not understand spiritual truth. One must first make peace with God. Arguing with these people about homosexuality* first* will never accomplish anything.

That’s rudeness. You don’t realize that some people have dedicated their life to study so you ca go to the pharmacy and buy an aspirin.
Why is stating an historical fact rude?

My daughter was one of the researchers on the Alzheimer project. Arocept is the result of this.

My husband, son and son-in-law have worked on robotics that are now on Mars.

But the fact remain that throughout history you have had and can find studies that will support or not-support any research. It depends on the scope of the study and the goal of the researchers.

One thing you can accomplish is to despute their false ideas in order that others will see that they are false.

That has NOT been proven. You need to read more widely and listen to those who have studied the formation of sexuality and the varieties of situations leading to that. The latest research rather indicates a stronger likelihood of a combination of inclination and environment as the combined formative elements, with in fact environment being the more determinant aspect. That is because it is not external physical behaviors per se (role modeling of lifestyles) that most produce an “imprinting” onto the young psyche, but rather the absence of positive same-sex (not opposite sex) role-modeling for the young child in a way that allows that child to identify. It’s the perceived deficit of positive identity that draws the child away from embracing the particular same-sex in the parent, replacing that archetype with a same-sex stranger with whom the child feels freer to communicate, be understood, etc.

This tendency is particularly prominent in males and appears to confirm other evidence of insufficient/superficial parenting by too many fathers. (I’m going by what I heard from a degreed expert in the field who was on the radio recently; wish I could remember the name.) Thus, fathers who are more emotionally available to their sons and actively communicate acceptance to their sons – including of any “softness” in the personality or anything that stereotypically or traditionally is considered “feminine,” are more likely to raise heterosexual sons than homosexual ones.
I can’t comment on the scientific validity of research I haven’t read, but your proposal above is very easily tested, Elizabeth502. If it were true, we should find far higher rates of homosexuality among children raised by single parents.

However, I can comment on a different issue: It sure seems like forum member AveSantaMaria has been posting a lot of pseudoscience lately. As Catholics (for those of us who are), we believe that Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Therefore we have no cause to fear the truth, wherever it leads. We also believe that our minds are impaired by Original Sin, such that we are prone to reason incorrectly. Therefore we must be very cautious about trusting our own understanding. Reason isn’t destroyed by Original Sin, however, and with work and grace we use it trustworthily. Reasoning well requires the intellectual virtues that came to bloom in Christian civilization. The best tools we know of for honing right reason are in the scientific method. The mark of real science is that it follows the truth wherever it leads. The mark of pseudoscience is that it picks the destination beforehand and searches for evidence. As a practical matter, therefore, be most wary when science agrees with you!

So as the title says “Children Raised by Homosexuals are 7 times more likely to be Gays or Bisexuals” I guess these children just happened to break statistics and have 7 times the homosexual gene while being raised by gays or bisexuals?

Many old sayings are amazingly true, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”.
Because it’s genetic, your parents have no control of genetics.

Except for the fact that no peer-reviewed studies have actually proved that this is true, just junk science the OP keeps posting all over these forums.
