I am reminded today that Truth cannot be destroyed. Truth is not in danger. The Sacrament of Marriage is not in danger.
Yes, it is being attacked, beaten, and mocked. The trappings and traditions surrounding truth, the little pleasant social constructs we enjoy, will suffer. Possibly to wither away and die. That is sad.
But Truth will only be ever more exposed. And, exposed, it becomes ever more apparent and reaffirmed.
Our Sacrament of Marriage - a special reverence and God-given Grace of the life-giving relationship between one man and one woman - is ancient. Even more telling is the fact that every religious order over a hundred years old recognizes is unique and superior position in society.
So, today I rest assured that the Sacrament of Marriage is not at all wounded by Supreme Courts, Secular Governments, and Radical Revolutionaries. They are merely children throwing rocks at the sun.
St. John 15:18-21
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you… If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you… because they do not know Him who sent Me."
