China “Buys” Half of Africa, Expands Territory to Conquer World

The new Chinese Silk Road has facilitated China’s political domination of African countries and consolidated its influence over multilateral organizations

In this context, the influence of China has also multiplied. The Asian country has lent more money to developing countries—mostly located in Africa—than the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and any other government in the world.

In 2018 alone, China offered 60 billion USD in funding to Africa and debt relief to the poorest countries in the form of interest-free loans, all in exchange, of course, for becoming its puppets, following Beijing’s orders and, needless to say, always voting in its favor in every multilateral body. They have managed, for example, to install the Ethiopian Tedros Adhanom as director-general at the WHO with the vote of the African Union. Tedros, in turn, repaid them by hushing up the severity of the coronavirus so that China could achieve its geopolitical goals.

The most dangerous part of this whole situation is the so-called “hidden debt.” Experts believe that 60% of Chinese loans are granted with fewer guarantees, but have higher interest rates and shorter maturities so that countries that cannot meet their commitments are forced to hand over their ports, mines, infrastructure, concessions, and other assets to China, which further increases the Asian giant’s influence over them and the rest of the world.
Africa, the USA and the world need to be very careful here. Everywhere says a big danger in Africa is getting mortgaged up on all of these loans.

An interesting article, and as far as the part that describes China’s strategies is concerned, I believe it’s mostly accurate. I say that on the basis of having seen China’s rapidly growing influence in a few developing countries with my own eyes.

Where the article gets a little “funny” is here:
For evil to triumph, the work of the bad guys is not enough, the good guys must also give in, and in this case, the United States seems determined to give up the battle for world supremacy and give way to submission to China.
At the risk of offending American users on CAF, I think it’s quite a stretch to equate the United States unequivocally with “the good guys”, as the article seems to be doing. In fact, the reason that China is able to make inroads in many places (not just Africa) is because more than a few developing countries do not perceive the USA, and more generally the West, as the good guys…

Many African economies are already dominated by western capital, and in lots of cases this is terrible for the actual people who live there. China just wants a slice of that imperialist pie.

No offense taken. I went to the opinion section to see what this site was about, as I was unfamiliar with it. It is not exactly journalism, as even the title of the OP article will tell you.

FYI, if we really were “the good guys” we would not need so much military overkill to maintain our position in the world. It is possible China might be taking a play out of the Reagan handbook and beat us economically while we spend ourselves into irrelevance on military strength.

This article is a couple years old but gives more insight into China’s increasing influence in the South Pacific also

Some countries have cancelled Chinese investment, all or in part, I believe some Asian/South Pacific nation did.

Some insurgent types attack Chinese interests so often in Pakistan.

Some African countries have too:
