Choosing a Pope from outside of the Papal conclave

Yes, most would agree there have been some. However, many would cite history and say that despite those held in lower esteem and performance as Pope, the Church did indeed survive, and therefore conclude that indeed the gates of hell would NOT be allowed to prevail against the Church. Some might even say it is a miracle. It should be remembered that there has not always been a college of cardinals and the “urgency” to select a pope because that most delay of game tactics have also been addressed as well. Let us remember to pray and hope that God 's plan might be discerned and the sly one is given very little influence.:twocents::twocents:
 
Have a feeling the Holy Spirit is going to be working big time this time around.

May we have another wonderful and blessed Pope.
 
Elections?..maybe.
Let us hope, that in answer to prayers, God “creates” a Pope and through discernment the Cardinals find him… That would certainly be better, wouldn’t it, or is it that way already? (Kinda lika priesta spirita isa mada marka upona spirita ofa manna, no?) We should not care so much from where our Pope is found, but only that he is identified, and that he finds the strength to accept God’s plan and that he finds support from all the faithful.

Let us pray… Drive far away our ghostly foe, and thine abiding peace bestow, if thou be our preventing guide, no evil can our steps betide. Now, let us pray again…and again…:highprayer::highprayer:

Symbolic Translation may be incorrect…please someone tell me…What is “highprayer”???
 
how about Father Robert Barron, the one who put together the Documentary “Catholicism”? 🙂

IMHO, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia (previously of Denver) would make a wonderful Pope… Not sure why he has not been made a cardinal (so far), but he is a very outspoken and fearless defender of the Church and her teachings, and he’s not afraid to go to the media and say what needs to be said.

He would also, if elected, be the first Native American Pope, as well as the first American of any heritage 🙂

that would be okay… they have to pick someone with no connection at all ever to anything controversial… or if they cannot do this… make their selection outside the school of Cardinals

Even if they choose someone who is absolutely clean with an absolutely clean record the “mainstream” media will lie and do everything they can to smear him regardless of the accusations being false. Jesus was without sin, but the crowd crucified him while choosing to set a notorious murderer free. And people are the same today.

That’s always a possibility, of course. But certainly not a certainty.

Choosing another Pietro da Marrone separated by space from the current turmoil, and without any perceived or actual personal loyalties would give him a good report among Catholics and be in a good position to resolve the current crisis- a lot more than selecting a current cardinal would.

With all the controversy surrounding Christ, maybe we should drop Him, too. I mean, after all, how can you build a church on a person surrounded by controversy; did He claim to be king of the Jews, or didn’t He; was He God or simply man; did He really perform all those miracles or did His followers do some “puff” articles on Him (damage control); did He rise from the dead (I mean, really!); and so on and so forth. Better we distance ourselves from Him if we want a religion that will pass the test of time. Maybe we should start all over and make “Do unto others and you would have them do unto you,” our watchword. Yeah! That’s the ticket! Elect a new founder. Replace Christ with platitudes and high sounding phrases! Problem solved.

what do you think about picking Pope out of conclavel… like a Priest from anywhere, world, not a cardinal and not even a bishop ???
some young priest just out of law school with doctoate in theology and absolutely no baggage ??!!??
