Then you reject Randy’s premise that Jesus is the commander in cheif and Old Pete is the supreme commander? One God in 3 persons would totally make Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Commander in Chief. But whatevs.![]()
I think it was Jon who said something like Jesus being CiC and Peter being field commander. I liked that. Then you reject Randy’s premise that Jesus is the commander in cheif and Old Pete is the supreme commander?
Jesus clearly makes the decision to obey the will of the father in his human will.
The Father and I are one.The Commander in Chief would be God the Father.
One in substance not one person. Jesus obeyed the will of the Father. The Father and I are one.
He did.And Jesus obeyed the will of the Father.
Pray for them, Kendra.I think it is sad that you can show proof and explain it all out and people are still too stubborn to believe.
Sometimes these threads are like beating a dead horse.
HH, we totally went over this: Trinity = commander in chief. One in substance not one person. Jesus obeyed the will of the Father.
I think God the Father is like the CIC and Jesus is the field commander. After all the Father is the supreme authority. Everything comes from the father.I think it was Jon who said something like Jesus being CiC and Peter being field commander. I liked that.
I took that directly from scripture. Need the verses to follow along?Sounds all pretty but that’s not consistent with scripture
The Orthodox bailed in the 13th century, your spiritual forefathers clung to this ridiculous Catholic misinterpretation for another 300 years.nor the history of the church.
No. The Father is the supreme authority. That’s why Jesus obeyed the will of the Father.HH, we totally went over this: Trinity = commander in chief.![]()
You don’t have any verses supporting your position, do you? :nope:After your mocking and personal tone in our last exchange, I have no desire to engage in conversation with you anymore.
Well said. People believe, accept and have faith. Be it in the Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant traditions.Kendra, while it is true that people can refuse to listen to sound evidence and bask in their own ignorance, I think that more commonly, people are just set in their beliefs and no quantity of quotes hurled at them over an internet forum is going to change their mind.
I spent a good few months studying the Roman Catholic Church’s claims to the papacy and by the end of my research I could not see a strong case for it. I instead saw the Orthodox Church as Christ’s Church, and so I became Orthodox. Keep in mind I was not Christian beforehand, so I didn’t have the same baggage that a Protestant would have.
But I can understand how someone would be persuaded by the evidence that is out there and honestly make the decision to join the RCC instead.
Right now, none of these quotes really change my views as I have accepted the teachings of the Orthodox Church on the matter after a period of discernment. I imagine House Harkonen might say something similar about his own faith tradition.
The President of the United States is also referred to as the Commander in Chief of our military forces. The generals serve at his command.I think it was Jon who said something like Jesus being CiC and Peter being field commander. I liked that.
That would be some sort of anti Trinitarian heresyI think God the Father is like the CIC and Jesus is the field commander. After all the Father is the supreme authority. Everything comes from the father.
OK. I didn’t get the reference to Supreme Commander. The President of the United States is also referred to as the Commander in Chief of our military forces. The generals serve at his command.
In World War II, President Roosevelt (along with Winston Churchill, I suppose) named General Eisenhower as Supreme Commander of Allied Forces operating in the European theatre.
President
Supreme Commander
Other Generals (Patton, Bradley, Montgomery, etc.)
Jesus
Peter
Other Apostles
House is just trying to find a way out of a dilemma by bring the Father into the picture (forgetting for the moment the Holy Spirit).
Look, it’s just an analogy, but the key is that scripture specifically shows Jesus re-introducing the office of the Royal Steward into His kingdom. And by the way, in ancient Israel, the Queen was not a wife of the king (they had lots of wives!), but the mother of the king. So, Mary is the Queen of Heaven.
Make sense?
You are stating that he was the head of the Church. Well I don’t argue with that he was indeed head of Jesus’ Church.Because he was the princeps of the apostles whose ministry was passed down to all the bishops of the church.
