Dear Ashley,

You sure have read much more into my postings than what was intended. Have I sinned to exhalt Christ to His right place in our hearts as Christians? Why does it seem you are so overly sensitive with my emphasis, pointing to Christ as being supreme? What happens when you don’t love the Lord your God will all of your heart, soul, strenght, and mind… and love your neighbor as yourself? I think when we don’t do the impossible of the summary of the moral law, we sin and fall short of the glory of God. What happened to the good news of God? Are you pleasing to God right now, and why?

I am sorry you view my passion for truth as "over sensitivity." Perhaps it is founded in replying to nonsensical, ill founded questions from posters who don't really want an answer.. but would rather confuse Catholics and purport that we believe things THEY think we believe.
The truth is worth “being sensitive” about. It is not a joke, or something you can poke fun of through immature cartoon illustrations. Tradition is a villain eh? Guess we’d better toss out the cannon of scripture!

I am sensitive because I love Christ, and I will stand up for all that He came to reveal. If I do anything that is pleasing to God, it is not of my own power, but of Christ working through me. Will I fail? Of course..but it most certainly will not be Christ failing me! It will be my choice to turn from Him. Thankfully He has promised His forgiveness to all who seek Him with a heart of repentence and sincerity. And I can recieve the grace of His forgiveness through the sacrament of reconcilliation.
Thankfully it is not up to ME! Because then, truly I would have no hope. And my hope is in Christ:)

So…why are you stilll unsatisfied with the Catholic viewpoint of Christ in our lives? What are you after, and why do you propose to know the desire of our hearts? What is “underdog’s” true agenda at CAF?

I go where the Spirit of Christ is present! There is only one church, right? Christ is not divided!
Christ is not divided, but how come there are so many denominations and each one has their own belief on certain matter? Could this be due to the understanding of the Truth that results in these denominations?

Do you think Spirit of Christ is not present at the Catholic church?

We all know in part because all of us are yet to be made like Him in full. We struggle and groan in this body of death. I never stated or implied that the Spirit of Christ is not present in the Catholic church. I posted that those who are truly united to Christ and worship corporately in the Catholic Church are my dear brother and sisters in Christ! Do you believe you have brother and sisters in Christ that do not attend the Catholic Church?

I was asking you - it wasn’t a statement. As for Catholic church, we do recognize others as Christians; however, this does mean that we recognize everything they say is true.

As for why we need the church - considering one needs parents even if Chris is everything.

Tradition comes in two forms, haven’t you learned that yet? Underdog’s agenda is to point everyone everywhere to Jesus Christ! He is supreme and deserves to be our greatrst treasure in this life and the next. In this life, all Christians struggle with replacing Jesus Christ as being supreme in our heart with idols that lie. We all need to be aware of the idols that replace Christ in our hearts, repent and put Christ back where He belongs in our heart. Jesus is Lord of all.

Do Catholics replace Christ with idols that lie?

Are you saying those who do not attend a Catholic Church but are still united to Christ… are not part of the church, or body of Christ? I believe Ashley stated something like that.

I am saying they only know truth partially. How many Christians call themselves Christians, yet they act as if they are not ones? Do you think these people are 100% truly united with Christ?

Are you purely united with Christ? 😉

PS: you seem to question my own question without trying to answer it. This seems to be how you converse.

Do you believe the Catholic Church has the fullness of Christ? Remember, Jesus Christ is God with all the attributes of God. How can any church have the fullness of Christ is this world? Even the Apostle Paul proclaimed that we look dimly in the mirror and know in part. Nobody, or no church is made perfect on this side of glory.

The Catholic Church has full truth.

This means your heart is not entirely taken up by Christ - let me know what other idols in your heart that Christ is not all in you?

Repent is the right word that you are saying to others. May it be applied to you in the same way you preach.

Peace out! Back to work.

All Christians will replace Christ with idols that lie during their spiritual journey. That is the trial that we face in life. What does the Apostle John tell us (the church) at the end of his first letter (1 John)?

What does the Bible say about “where two or more are gathered in my name?” What did Christ mean when He promised to always be with us?

The fullness of the tuth, Christ Himself, is truly present in His church. Tjat is not the same as saying we “understand” all of that truth. Knowing in part, doesn’t mean we only HAVE part.

The Spirit of Christ is within those who are united to Christ. Jesus Christ is at the right hand of God interceding for the saints. Before Jesus ascended to the Father, He promised us the Spirit of Christ and not the church as our guide to all truth, reminding us of the supremacy of Jesus Christ. Don’t confuse the Holy Spirit with the church.

What does this suggest of the indwelling of Christ? I think you are confusing Christ with the Holy Spirit.

Are you suggesting that Christ does not live within Catholics?

Here is your reference to 1 John:
16
If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray.
17
All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.
18
We know that no one begotten by God sins; but the one begotten by God he protects, and the evil one cannot touch him.
19
We know that we belong to God, and the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
20
We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment to know the one who is true. And we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21
Children, be on your guard against idols.

We are to guard against idols, and the Bible promises that Christ has given us the discernment to know “the one who is true.”

I gave you my personal testimony … And you still hold that somehow Catholics are not “on guard against idols?”

You did not ask me the question. You asked ChurchMilitant the question so how does your response make any sense at all? More of the same rhetoric from you without thought or contemplation whatsoever. Again I am amused.

Too often we allow ourselves the comfort of an opinion without the discomfort of thought. JFK

You seem to be proclaiming and preaching the Roman Catholic Church instead of Jesus Christ.

This is not a very easy way to understand each other. For all Christians, regardless of our church membership and affliation, the Spirit of Christ (Holy Spirit) dwells in the believer. Do you agree with that statement? Who guards our hearts, the physical church or God the Holy Spirit who dwells in the believer? All Christians (Catholics and non-Catholics) struggle with idols of the heart. That is the Christian experience, don’t you agree on that point?

That You May Know - 1 John 5

13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God [1] will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death.

18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

Do not even the demons “believe?”

It is not enough just believe that Christ is the son of God. So, my question is, how do you know Christ is dwelling in you? How do you recieve the spirit of God?

Do you believe Catholics recieve the spirit of God?

I would not say we struggle with idols “OF” the heart… but rather, that we struggle with idols that seek to overtake our hearts. But is it truly possible for us to be overcome by idols if we allow Christ to dwell within us?

I would say if we are alive in Christ, then it is He who guards our hearts and leads us into truth. Where is the truth found? What does the Bible say “is the Pillar and Bulwark” of the Truth?
