Christian ‘looters’ destroy sex shops in New Orleans larknews.com/october_2005/images/cover.jpg NEW ORLEANS — Days after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, zealous Christians from several Southern ministries converged on the Big Easy to destroy every sex shop they could find.
“If looters can rob electronics stores, then we can tear down satanic businesses,” said Melvin Smith, a minister from Christ Cornerstone Ministries in Tupelo, Miss. His team of 19 Bible institute students methodically gutted a sex shop in the French Quarter, burning the contents in the street. They left a note posted on the wall: “They will call you the City of the Lord - Isaiah 60:14.”

It’s wrong to loot. It’s wrong to destroy property not belonging to you. The ends don’t justify the means.

Well, a quick glance at the link proves this to be from a satirical website offering phony Christian news.

It might be a fake news site, but there is probably some truth to the article: that is most definately New Orleans and that is lingerie they are taking out of an adult store and burning.

If you look very carefully you will realize these “Looters” are quite brilliant. They have managed to loot the shop without breaking the windows or even opening the doors!!! Must have been divine intervention!! smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_2_49.gif
And if you look even MORE carefully, you can’t even see if the door was knocked down or not because you can’t tell which one is the door.

Yeah, I used to use it a good bit when I did photography. Anything is possible, but if it is photoshopped then someone spent a LOT of time working on this shot.

As a christian when is it right to act outside the Law?. I have a feeling this is not one of the moments were it is required. 😦

Not so. A few shots were selected and placed on separate layers. Smoke was rubber stamped and given some transparency on a separate layer. Then the layers were compressed. Piece-a-cake.

Photoshop is a lot easier than it used to be, it seems.

I don’t think it is easy. I just stayed up all night doing projects. That forced me to think up shortcuts and good filing strategies.

Also note that the shop has electricity and there is no debris in the street.

I found the “rapture safety cards” on the Lark site to be quite amusing.

If you also look, the store still has electricity. Didn’t know that power was restored that quickly.
