It doesn’t have to contain explicit heresy. The Church has required us to shun the heresy of protestantism. The Church has required the bruning of protestant bibles when found (including those without subtitles) merely because they are protestant. Therefore, we should do the same with music. Gragorian Chant is the most perfect music we have on earth. This should be what we adhere to rather than heresy from protestants. God bless.

Just so that no one else will miss the departure from logic found here:

Because the Catholics are to shun heresy and because the church has required the burning of Protestant Bibles in the past, it is not a logical conclusion that we should do the same with music. Likewise, it would be best to abstain from burning Protestants.

The church could exercise her authority and ban all music from Protestant composers. If this were to happen, we should all then respect that decision.

How is that not a logical conclusion…? You didn’t say how it is. Also, it would NOT be best to abstain from burning protestants. If the Inquisition was needed in the past, it is needed all the more now; however, corruption in government since the French and American revolutions has led to governments with “separation of Church and state,” explicitly condemnded by Popes Leo XIII, Pius IX, Gregory XVI, and many others. The Church used to also have, as I am sure you know, a banned books list. This was taken away. There is no reason for us to believe that the Church will go to such great lengths as to ban even music if there are no books banned right now (nor does it seem that will be again unless we get an orthodox Pope sometime). In any event, there is no reason whatsoever to have heretical music, as it is not at all pleasing to God, as the Council of Trent states. The Council states that without the Catholic Faith it is impossible to please God. This is echoed in Vatican I. God bless.

These posts are off topic and fruitless and I apologize. I will start a new thread.
