Islam certainly existed even before Prophet Mohammed. Are you denying the fact that there were 12 circumcised tribes of Ishmael. Are you saying that Jethro (an Ishmaelite), Moses’ father-in-law did not receive the Law through Moses
Your religion, catholic… i dont think so.

Islam was invented by muhammad, for muhammad.
There was no mention of islam before muhammad invented his religion.
Gen 21: 12 but God said to him, ‘Do not distress yourself on account of the boy and your slave-girl. Do whatever Sarah says, for Isaac is the one through whom your name will be carried on.
13 But the slave-girl’s son I shall also make into a great nation, for he too is your child.’

In this quote, as you can see, God said ishmael will make a great nation, but the true followers of God stem from isaacs side.

I reproduce what I posted. In what way have I belittled catholicism? In fact I have clearly established the supremacy of catholicism in terms of truth.
Ishmael was the first to be circumcised by Abraham and so Islam came first and symbolises FAITH. Judaism came from Isaac who was born after Abraham had persevered in hope and symbolises HOPE. Christianity came through Jesus Christ the promised Messiah (Savior) who is simultaneously Son of God and descendant of David. Christianity symbolises LOVE.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1Cor 13:13)
Cutting across religious barriers, today the whole world lauds the FAITH of the Muslims, the HOPE of the Jews (called “prisoners of hope” in the Bible) and the LOVE of the Christians.

What an absurd statement to make it seem that it’s somehow God fault for turmoil in that region for linking them all to Jerusalem. Anyway muslims have mecca and Christians have Rome -and they are miles apart.
Same old story , that has allowed Jews to claim the Temple Mount, for two thousand years, yet over all that time ,they never recognized Christ as the Son of God, the foundations of Christianity, Islam and Judaism were laid in Jerusalem.

A study of the life of King Solomon, will educate , thousands of slaves were executed for not working hard enough, slaves were not allowed to worship the Jewish God, I cant understand how King Solomon was on speaking terms with God,

Hello swariffin;

The prophet phuh, ascended to heaven from this place, so it is sacred to Islam also, why would God bring these three religions together in one place?

In the spirit of searching for a greatest meaning of One God

Eric
Why do you think that Muhammad must go to Jerusalem? It is outside the land of Arabia, anyway? Based on the fact that all Muslims must face Ka’Baa during praying, it is more logical that Muhammad ascended to heaven from Ka’Baa. During Muhammad’s time, Jerusalem had no importance with respect to Islamic belief.

Abraham’s circumcision of Ishmael has nothing to do with Islam. Circumcision is the faith of Judaism. Islam merely follow the Jews for that. Circumcision did not come from Islam. What do you mean by “Islam”? And what do you think of “Islam” as compared to “Muslim”?

Circumcision came from Abraham and his elder son Ishmael was the first to be circumcised by Abraham. Islam means “submission to God’s will”.
And what do you think of “Islam” as compared to “Muslim”?
Theologically speaking, a Muslim is ‘one who submits to God’s will’; literally speaking Muslims are followers of the religion called Islam. I think the same of “Islam” as compared to “Muslim” as what I think of “Christianity” as comapred to “Christian” or for that matter any religion as compared to its followers.

Sorry my friend, you made a mistake in reading Genesis chapter 17. There is no wording that Ismael was the first to be circumsized. The verse said all men, and they are all circumsized at the same day. There is no description that Ismael was the first to “taste” the circumcision knife.

I agree to say that Islam means Submission to God’s will, and Abraham by definition was Islam. Anybody who follow God’s will is Islam.

Muslim means a person who is in submission to God’s will, that is Islam. But, if you compare Muslim and Islam just like Christian and Christianity, you are dead wrong. Muslim follow the 5 pillars which are : Saying the Shahada, Praying 5 times a day (at least), Fasting, Paying Zakat to the poor and Pilgrimage to Ka’Baa. For sure, Abraham did not say the Shahada, did not praying 5 times a day (though he did pray to God, but the frequency is unknown), did not fast since the law of Thorah has not been given yet during Abraham’s time, and certainly and absolutely never pay pilgrimage to Ka’Baa. In Abraham’s time, Ka’Baa did not exist yet. Out of those 5 pillars, only one that Abraham met.

So, Muslims are Islam (assuming they really follow the good teaching of God), but Islam does not necessarily Muslim. Islam should be more inclusive rather than exclusive. In this case, Abraham indeed Islam. But, Abraham was not Muslim.

Not very many posters have even answered Familyman87’s question. He is asking for a book on the three religions, not a debate on theology.

I don’t have a recommendation on Judaism, but for Islam, I would recommend Inside Islam: a Guide for Catholics by Ali and Spencer with introduction by Father Mitch Packwa.

Sedonaman,
Thanks for answering my question. I was looking for a way to get back to the originaly query. Have had one or two good suggestions.

Agreed. And what purpose that Islam must go to Jerusalem and build a mosque on top of the ancient location of temple, and to convert Hagia Sophia church to be a mosque, in Constantinople? Sounds like to conquer both Judaism and Christianism to me.
The roots of Christianity and Judaism and Islam is ONE. Their teachings are the same. 10 Commandments, heaven and hell, angels and demons, Prophets, Messengers, saints, 1 God, Day of Questioning. True Christianity and Judaism, is Islam. Islam is your religion perfected and sealed. Christ peace unto Him, will confirm this in the second coming.
To really know Islam, is to believe this. Why do you think The Aggressors are targetting Islam? because they`ve had their fingers in the honey pot for many milleniums and have infiltrated all three religions, so as to bring mankind to their knees whilst they take over with 1 corrupt government.
Quran ;The Table Spread
5. This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).

the ppl of the book are Jews and Christians (not Zionists)
  1. It was We who revealed the law (to Moses): therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the prophets who bowed (as in Islam) to Allah.s will, by the rabbis and the doctors of law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah.s book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear me, and sell not my signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) Unbelievers.
  2. And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.

Abraham chose the name Muslim, for those who submitt to the Will of God, and it was Abraham who originally built the Kaaba with His son. The well of the Zam zam in Mecca whos water heals and is holy, is the miracle experienced by Hagar when she and her baby were left in the middle of this harsh site with no water or vegetation, by Gods command. It didnt make sense to Abraham (peace unto Him) at the time, but, He puts His trust in the Almighty, and goes off to do God`s work, leaving them behind. The baby cries with hunger and thirst, and the mother, in her desperation runs between the two mountains, seven times looking for food or drink, and then cries to her Lord, the baby is kicking his heals whilst crying, from that point the spring of water begins to gush.
By the time Abraham gets back to them, there is now water and vegetation, and travellers and traders began to take rest there. It is from here that we have all that is in Mecca today.

When Allah (God gave Muhammad peace be upon Him) the daily prayers for the followers, their was 50 prayers to do. The Prophet was cringing at the high amount, and worried how the followers would cope, it was Prophet Moses, peace unto Him, who urged Him to go back to Allah, and ask for a reduction, and this happened until it was reduced to five. 1 for each part of the day.

… Their teachings are the same. …
Baloney. Islam claims that Jesus was not crucified, there is no Holy Trinity, and there is no Sermon On The Mount. There are other errors taught by Islam, but those are the ones that come to mind.

This is incredibly interesting, since Arabic was not spoken in or around any place where Abraham is traditionally identified to have lived or grown up. He was born in Ur, which whether you identify it with North or South Mesopotamia (it seems that the traditional view is that it was in the North, and the modern that it was in the South), it remains that the time-line of the modern Islamic apologists such as yourself is waaaaaayyyy off.

The rest of your post is similarly fantastic.

If we take a dispassioante look at the three faiths after setting aside all their controverial beliefs and unbeliefs, we can clearly infer this:
  1. Muslims submissively accept all happenings as God’s will.
  2. Jews reactively discern God’s will and then repent for their disobedience
  3. Christians proactively discern God’s will and strive to abide in God’s way

And why should anyone overlook the very basic differences in theology between the religions in order to make blanket statements about them? I am confused as to why you have quoted me, anyway. My post was about the linguistic reality of ancient Mesopotamia, which was not inhabited by any major Arab population until the Lakhmids set up in al-Hira c.4th century AD, having evolved into a small vassal state from the original tent settlements of the Tanukh tribe of Arabs who arrived in an area west of the Euphrates at the beginning of the third century (source: Christianity in Iraq (Rassam, 2005)). This was all centuries after Abraham is supposed to have lived in Ur, hence it is literally impossible for what the Muslim poster wrote to be true.

Dear Mr.Erick,

Though it appears good that Christianity, Islam and Judaism united as One GOD.

One who denies the son denies the Father, (John Chap.4). One who denies the Word denies the Lord Jesus. The major difference betwen the three. “I (JESUS) AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND LIFE”. Nobody can reach father without son because I (Jesus) and My Father are One.

Until date Jews did not recognize Jesus as the son of God. For them he is still carpenter’s son. Quran clearly says that there is no one between man kind and God. Only God alone. Bible says, Jesus is the one who stands between the people and God by virtue of his dying on the cross.

Take Christianity with a lot of Martyrs and saints. Until date Islam could not give any one example like Father Damien or Mother Theresa. Understand the fruits from the trees. As on date both religions are in DARK.
