If Christ should decide to give me the crown of martyrydom, it will be a honor and a privedge.

Yes, as a parent I canāt even imagine being put to that kind of testā¦I think about this, and my prayer is I will call on Christ and His grace that I would die honorably
For me as a father, the more troubling situation is if someone were to threaten one of my children with death should I not recant.
But God allowed his son to die this way. I canāt allow it.Itās not the ādeathā part that prevents me from saying yes. I totally trust the mercy of God and do not fear death at all.
Itās the ātortureā part that throws me. I donāt know that I could withstand the physical pain. None us do really, until we are in that situation. I donāt think God would hold it against us if we werenāt able to. I know in my heart I could NOT under any circumstances watch my children being tortured. Itās almost too painful to even think abou it. I just couldnāt - I donāt think any parent could.
But yet, isnāt that what God the Father did? He watched His dear Son being tortured and hanging on the cross for the sins of mankind. What love He has for us!
I am willing to make the attempt, but I canāt promise success. I need to say it would not be my first choice. Is there a catacomb nearby to hide in?
My prayer is that Iāve raised my children to love and trust in Christ, and that the Holy Spirit would provide the words with which I could comfort them and they would know and understand I could never deny Jesus Christ.Yes, as a parent I canāt even imagine being put to that kind of testā¦![]()
Honestly I think that the question/poll is poorly worded although I sense what you are trying to ask. I did not know how to answer however.Christians, are you will to be tortured to death for Jesus Christ or not?
Many of our Christian brothers and sisters died for our faith during the first 4 Centuries.
If we were all being force to denounced our faith, would you die for your faith?
Some of the Early Christians were crucified, cut in half, skin alive, burn at the stake, eaten by beasts, and this happen while they were still alive.
Watching a love one die is not the question here. The question is, are you as a Christian willing enough to die for Jesus Christ when someone tries to convince you or force you denounce your faith.Manny, I think more telling would be to ask āWould you be willing to watch a loved one be tortured or killed?ā Ultimately, most would say yes when it only involves themselves, but the picture changes when it involves their loved ones, especially when it comes to their children.
Love all
I did make the correct. I wrote it while I was tired.Honestly I think that the question/poll is poorly worded although I sense what you are trying to ask. I did not know how to answer however.
Am I willing to āendureā whatever befalls me for the sake of my faith in Christ?
The answer would be Yes of course I am willing.
However, will I have the Courage, Stamina and Faith necessary to endure.
Then the answer is I hope that I would. That I would have the Grace to Rest in God and accept His good will for me.
However no one can know the answer for sure in the future tense. Itās only in the past tense - āDid you have the will to be torturedā¦ā - that we can answer such a question.
I will answer yes I am willing, but with fear and trepidationā¦
Peace

This is a very emotional topic for all of us. When this topic first come out I was at work, as I am now. On my way home every morning I call my wife to tell her I love her and that I am on my way home to her. On this morning I was telling her about this thread and we got into a very emotional discussion, in the end we both agreed, Christ comes first, though we love each other extremely, we both love Christ more. Afterward, we were filled with joy because we knew Christ was with us and always would be.My prayer is that Iāve raised my children to love and trust in Christ, and that the Holy Spirit would provide the words with which I could comfort them and they would know and understand I could never deny Jesus Christ.
Oh, I pray I am not placed in that situation!
