Yesterday night Religious police raided a building in Batha, Riyadh where three underground fellowships were there. All leaders of these fellowships(including women) were arrested and held in jail. Please pray for their immediate release.

And to think that we have people in this country who whine about two words in the Pledge of Allegiance or the cross on the hill at San Diego.
The religious police, which has a reputation for being uncompromising and violent, remorselessly enforces the ban.

In the last few years, international pressures have forced the Saudi royal family to relent a bit and allow non Muslim to practice their religion at least in the privacy of the home. None the less, the Muttawa continues to arrest, imprison and torture people who practice another faith. For instance, on April 23, they arrested 40 Pakistani Christians who were worshiping at home.
I believe that the death penalty can be imposed upon people who are in possession of a certain quantity of evangelical materials in Saudi Arabia.

People can die for trying to save souls in a Muslim country. Where’s Amnesty International on this issue?

God help them all. 😦

thank you very much for posting this, selvaraj! we’re praying!!!

From what I remember in Saudi, it is true that you can be put to death for either prosthelizing for or converting to another religion (namely Christianity)…
They have to take measures this extreme to avoid having people know the truth.

Jeddah (AsiaNews) – A Saudi citizen converted to Christianity has been arrested and jailed. Emad Alaabadi was taken into custody last November 29, at Hofuf, a town in eastern Saudi Arabia, but the news was reported only a few days ago by the International Christian Concern (ICC), a Washington-based human rights group. *AsiaNews *local sources have confirmed the report, and also say that he “is not the only Saudi Christian in jail at the moment: there are also others”.

The arrested Christians are released from Saudi jail today. Thanks those who prayed for their release, and also please pray for the other two Christians still in the jail for further investigations.

Thank God for their release. I wonder if they were given bibles to read and if they were respected? Where is the Amnesty International on this just latest incident of a Muslim country mistreating Christians?
