What are we, dividing up personal belongings after a divorce? I’m sorry, but this is just bizarre. I would be scandalized if anyone were to actually approach Rome (or Alexandria, or Constantinople, or Jersualem…) in such a fashion.
Now you know how we feel.

Well, benedict says that as soon as all of the noncatholics come back to the fold, we wil have unity:confused: I imagine he means the catholic fold; you know the people claiming to be the on and only true church?
There are numerous churches claiming to be the one and only true church.

Are you throwing the word Catholic around without even knowing what you mean by it?

Of course not; but then again, does it mean different things to different people? The dictionary says that it means general, or universal;) It just seems that anumber of catholics are exhorting us to come back to their fold in order to have unity:confused:

If that’s simply what you understand it to mean, then why are you applying it to a particular denomination?

By “Catholic” do you mean those who are in communion with the Bishop of Rome?

I don’t respond to every post. Just every post that interests me.
The emphasis should be on “individually” not on “every”. Make one post to respond to multiple posts where possible, makes it much easier to read, I know I don’t always do it myself, but I try.

Does this board promote Catholic/Protestant tunnel vision or something…?
In fairness, when I was a Protestant, I thought they were all the same thing. The next stage is to go overboard and think that “Russian” and “Greek” Orthodox are two different things. 😃

Well sorry you don’t get upset over trifling matters but little matters build up to big matters.
We don’t want to become like the other countries or have the same situation they have.
See ya
Less than trifling matters, they are all vanity.

And can all who are in communion with the bishop of Rome, call themselves catholic? And, who is this bishop of Rome? The catholics want us to come back to their fold, they believe that they have it all and we are all separated brethren!

So then Jesus wants us ALL to be catholic?
does the Lord have more than one bride? did the Lord set up more than one Church? did the Lord preach more than one gospel? did the apostles hand down more than one tradition?
was the protestant movement prophesied in the old testament as the Catholic Church was? malici 1:11. there can only be one Church. so if your really interested in the answere, study Church history, as well as secular history. find your answere my friend. but i will say this. God is no polygomist.🙂

May I ask of all of you to pray for my Uncle Danial. He is around 78 years old, a devote practicing Catholic and a all around wonderful and loving man. His colin cancer came back and my mother who is also Catholic called me and said to me that he said he needs our prayers. So if you would please pray for him in your prayers. He has lost his wife about 40 years ago due to cancer and his son, my cousin age 53, he just lost almost a year ago from prostate cancer. This man has been through plenty in his life and all I ask is that you please pray for him. Thank you in advance for your prayers and God bless you all.
Reverend Kevin
P.S. I’m the only non-Catholic in the family, but I was raised Catholic.

rev kevin: Heavenly Father, as we come humbly before Your throne, we ask for Your mercy and amazing healing over rev kevin’s uncle. Ultimately, we know that Your will will be done, and Your Name will be glorified; but we ask Your mighty presence with this family! Bring calm and peace(Psalms 46:1,10) Thank You in advance for the healing that only You can bring! In the powerful and mighty Name of Jesus, we ask, Amen!!!👍
