I heard that Jesus was born in the spring & that Christmas is more like a pagan holiday. Why are we celebrating a pagan holiday? I was also told that Jesus didn’t really die at Easter but its another pagan holiday. What is true?

Stop listening to the secular people trying to denigrate Christmas. If anything, even if Jesus wasn’t born on that day (I believe he was), it was the Church’s authority that tells us to celebrate on that day. To tell the truth, the reason the Orthodox have different dates for Christmas and Easter is not because Jesus was not born on that day, but because the Byzantine and Gregorian Calendars are different. The day shifted.

There’s nothing wrong with celebration, but we should be celebrating something that deserves it and we need to keep our morals intact. I’m sure the early Church found it helpful to encourage the early Christians to celebrate something moral, and to discourage them from going to the pagan festivals which involved all kinds of immorality and which celebrated the falsehoods of paganism.
