Thank you.
May Mary keep them especially close to Her this Christmas.

Thank-you. Looking at these pictures make me want to cry. They are so humbling.

Wow. That is so sad and humbling. They are celebrating the dear Saviour’s birth even in the shadow of the valley of death. Thank you for sharing.

May the Lord Jesus protect and deliver them this Christmas!

To quote from the beautiful carol “O Holy Night”…
And in His name, all oppression shall cease.

May this be so for our persecuted brothers and sisters, O Lord!

Incredible pictures. That last picture of the older woman praying the Rosary…wow.

Immaculate Virgin,
who accepted the light of the Holy Spirit,
and who has become the home of the living God;
Mother of light,
watch over your children,
especially those who have followed your Son
and have been persecuted.
We pray that the world gives attention to truth and justice.
Take away men’s hearts of stone,
which makes them killers in the name of religion.
Let your light illuminate us all!

Of course we weep, then pray for our Catholic brothers and sisters. They make us see the early church struggles…in modern terms. These are the new “Cloud of Witnesses” forming as we observe. They are all blessed.
However, and this is the hard part which Pope Francis has come to remind us: we must pray for the enemy, which in this case is ISIS, and these are also our brothers and sisters, no less loved by God.
Satan has deceived these people. They damn themselves with their actions, and the Devil rejoices. Yes, we must also pray for these poor, damned souls. They are also tragic figures in this grotesque “passion play”. What a shame…such a pity.

Also, I would like to appeal that we pray for the “lack of” global leadership that enables these sad scenarios.
