If the church is the bride of Christ and the church is sick, is a sick bride discarded for another?
Do we stand by our brides and help them heal or divorce them because they are sick, or too old?
Was it right for Martin Luther to divorce the church for another bride, or should he have
stayed, committing himself to healing Christ’s bride?
Once this act was made, others felt compelled to follow; England’s King Henry the 8th, being denied the request to divorce his wife by the church, divorced his wife and the church; he took on two new brides, another woman and established another church.
Christ’s bride, the church, is pure, it’s the selfish, self-serving, misguided sins of some men and women in the church who sometimes lead the church astray.
The church body is as good as the men and women who serve Christ’s bride.
The traditional wedding vow we take, “I take you to be my wife/husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.”
To those who desire the collapse of the Catholic Church, and her leader the pope, who would you chose to represent Christ on the world stage?
