I read the whole thread today, and have some logical points to make in regards to what Psychotheosophy has written. I’ve taken some liberties with line spacing and punctuation.
How does that follow? God could only be both existence and happiness
if existence
is happiness. And to say that existence is happiness is demonstrably false. Go hang out in an insane asylum, or down on Skid Row.
Existence is not nonexistence. If one
chooses nonexistence, one is not seeking existence.
Happiness is not unhappiness. If one
chooses unhappiness, one is not seeking happiness.
This works as a generalization. But I would guess that any psychiatrist or psychotherapist could give you examples of people who seek unhappiness.
The truly suicidal are not seeking happiness. They are seeking the end of pain.
Again, this does not follow. We do not have the right to happiness, only the right to seek it. The two things are not equal.
The same ones there have been since Roe vs. Wade was imposed upon us (without a majority vote). To pass it, we need:
- A majority of Congressmen who believe that abortion and euthanasia are murder, and have the courage to vote their convictions.
- A majority of pro-life Supreme Court Justices ditto.
Heart of Jesus, source of justice and love, have mercy on us.
