Ah, I meant I am still in RCIA, so I don’t think I’m eligible to receive the Sacrament since I haven’t been confirmed.

Unless you are a Catechumen you will receive the Sacrament of Confession in RCIA prior to receiving the Eucharist. If you are a Catechumen then you will be baptized.

Ah, yes. Well, I guess my impression is that I can’t go to confession every week and receive absolution in particular until I go before the Tribunal for a decree of nullity. I don’t know; it’s a little confusing to me, which is why I’m going to ask the RCIA leader about it tomorrow.

That would be really unusual where I live. I don’t know if the priests in my area gave up because people gave up or what, but we only have confession on Saturday afternoon, and of course, I have a part time job on Saturday. If I ever get a Saturday off, I see no one but me going to confession. They also have a special penance service during Christmas and Easter. When you consider that the overwhelming majority of people who self identify as Catholics claim to be practicing certain serious sins on a regular basis, something appears to be incongruous.
Perhaps this app will help spread awareness that not enough confession is being practiced, or maybe some people will ask if a certain action is really a sin.

There is a parish staffed with Dominicans near me that has confession every day. That parish is always packed and the lines for the confessional are always long.
That parish is the exception rather than the rule. It would be nice if every parish had confession before every weekend mass. IIRC there are ~13,000 registered parishioners at my parish and confession from 4:00-4:30 pm Saturday afternoon.
Excluding the special penance services at Christmas and Easter, that’s 1,560 minutes of scheduled confession for ~13,000 parishioners. That’s 0.12 minutes per parishioner. Given that roughly a quarter bother to attend mass that’s only 0.48 minutes per mass attending parishioner.

You know, I think I could use some help with preparing for Confession. I never knew there were any pamphlets. I just thought of the sins I’d committed and that’s it. I’ve never heard of an examination of conscience.I used to carry a small booklet in my vehicle that I would go through before going to confession. It helped me focus on my Examination of conscience. The book was well used and I was ready to get another one. This App came along at a great time for me. Now I have it on my Iphone, it is even better than the book but does the exact same thing.
Why would you have a problem with this? Do you attend a regular confessional?

To be honest, I don’t even know what an Iphone is. I have a cellular phone that I carry around, uncharged and completely worthless.
So - I’m going to check into this. Maybe it will help me make a better Confession.
And I think I’m going to charge up my cell phone so that I can use it to dial 911 if I need to.

We share our one priest with another parish half an hour away. We have one Mass on Saturday evening and one on Sunday. That’s it. Confessions are either right before Mass or by appointment. I always make an appointment and I have been putting it off because the last time I went I saw that the priest was absolutely exhausted.
I don’t think he can keep up with all the work he has to do.
The church is jammed at both Masses and there is standing room only when summer comes because I live in a town with a lot of tourists during that season.I think our priest is going to keel over during Mass.
