HALIFAX — One of the seminal events in Canadian history will be celebrated Thursday when hundreds gather in Port-Royal, N.S. — along with a handful of Roman Catholic bishops and the papal emissary to Ottawa — for an open-air mass to remember the first baptism, four centuries ago, of an aboriginal Canadian.
