Church Community Outraged After Unholy Crime

…A burglar broke into the church and stole the ciborium – a golden chalice-like object used to store the holy eucharist. The pastor showed Eyewitness News where an intruder got into the church sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning by standing on a box and forcing open a window. Once inside, the thief took the holy vessel, unlocked a door and left.

“There are so many valuable things within the church. Nothing was disturbed. They clearly just came in, took what they wanted and went out the door,” said Msgr. Tressler…

Most likely the perpetrators of this terrible crime were not Satanists at all. Satanists do not even worship Satan. That is a misconception. Either way, this is terrible.

Nor does it mention that the Eucharist was taken: “A burglar broke into the church and stole the ciborium – a golden chalice-like object used to store the holy eucharist.” It’s unclear from the article whether the chalice reposed any hosts, and if so, whether they were taken, too.

Yeah, it didn’t say how many Hosts if any were taken, I would say that’s an important part of reporting.

We discussed this incident last week. There was a lot of sloppy reporting, but it seems the ciborium did contain the Blessed Sacrament.
