Church Contradiction on Female Lectors?

I was a so-called lector/cantor/announcement person back in 1967 when it was men only. There were seven of us and 4 masses every weekend and I will tell you that it was not fun, it became drudgery. Difficult to go out of town on a weekend etc. Today all these tasks have been separated and parceled out to many more people. Additionally we have EMHCs. Despite the drudge aspects we always saw it as a previledge to be able to serve or fellow Catholics.
