PIGTOWN, Yes true in order for Jesus Christ to forgive us of our sins we must go to his Church the Apostles and to their successors for are sins to be forgiven or retained…GOD forgives sins. 1 John 1:9 states: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Neither the church, the priest or anyone else can forgive our sins, only God can do that. The best part is that He then forgets our sins. Isaiah 43:25 states: “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” The Bible is very clear on the subject. We need to confess our sins to God, repent of them and go forward.
Pigtown, yes you are wrong we must go to the church and to the priests who are the successors of the apostles for this is the only way to truly know if our sins are forgiven or if they are retained. Read Below.
(John 20:22,23) When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.
The above bible verse Jesus Christ want us to go to his church. Can you utter words to baptize yourself or do you need a priest? Pigtown did you baptize yourself? OF COURSE NOT! well that also goes for confessing our sin we need a priest.
Pigtown, when you go directly to Jesus Christ to confess your sins that you have committed do hear Jesus Say to you your sins our forgiven? Or maybe Jesus Christ has not forgiven you but retained your sins how would you ever know?
Truth is that is why Jesus Christ Left his Church in order for us to know if we have been truly forgiven or our sins or if our sins have been retained and (John 20: 22, 23) proves it!
