Church Hopping

I am only going to Christian Churches because I have gone to a mosque and Synogoge already several times. I am interesed only in the different Christian denomnations at this time. I said I might make a blog about it. I’m still deciding

Patty, are these proposed visits to Christian denominations taking the place of your attending Mass or will you do both?
 
Proverbs 6:27-29
27 Can a man carry fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned?
28 Or can one walk upon hot coals and his feet not be scorched?
29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; none who touches her will go unpunished.

If you’re not strong enough with your catholic faith I suggest don’t even think about it.
Not really a good example to fellow Catholics, IMO.🤷

WOW Did i ever say I wasn’t a strong Catholic. Jeez… why do I post on this forum again?

Went to the Methodist Church today- interesting and wasn’t a horrible experience. I also wasn’t struck down by lightening if any uber-Catholics wanted to know. Just came out with a better understanding of the Methodist Faith.

Still, IMO, it is not a good example to church hop…:nope:
 
More, ideas…have you tried going to different Catholic Churches, i.e. Eastern Catholic, Charasmatic Catholic Masses, Life Teen, Newman, etc etc?

WOW even my priest churched hopped a bit. there is NOTHING wrong with it. You can sit and observe. You must believe that heaven is only for those who are Catholic. 🤷

Life teen is like a rock concert where I live… I do not like it. I would love to go to other Catholic Churches. If half the people on this forum didn’t think I was going to hell for visiting a church service I would probably post some of those experiences. As of right now i think this forum is gonna drive me bananas.

I am so proud of how I was raised. I personally think some of the people here are uber-catholic. I’m just happy where I am at on my spritual journey and don’t need to be told how to live my faith. Slowly but surly I may leave this forum because right now I get driven nuts. I say that in the highest regard of course 🙂

No need to be upset. Your fellow Catholics are just looking out for your best interests. Also known as Christian Love. You should be thankful.

Aha… now you’re exposing your priest! It won’t be any wonder why some of our parishes are somewhat protestantised. Good example!:eek:

As far as I know the Catholic Church do not encourage such attendance and participations in non-Catholic churches services. She always encourage her members to preserve and protect the faith. (I assumed you’re participating in their services from what I’ve read in your other thread and not just sitting and observing- if not, I apologize).

I did a couple times before in my twenties (Lutheran and Church of Christ) and it still haunting me to these days. It’s like I attended a cult or something. I remained a Catholic, though. Never left the one true Church. I’m happy with her.😉

Dang third…a cult? Oh well…everyone entitled to their opinion. Boy if I said that about YOU guys it would not go over well…
But the Catholic Church was not like a cult when I visited…it was like…well I had no idea what was going on. I get it a little better now…been…four or five times in my life I suspect.

I have to laugh because I am not used to married clergy so I didn’t know who the paster was at first haha. They sing a lot of the same songs and have a lot of the same prayers.

It wasn’t as different as I thought it would be but I guess I am more open than my other fellow Catholics.

I think the Episcopal church is next. I might do that twice since I was invited to one and want to see another one that I thought was amazing looking. Thank you so much Brian for asking and not being judgemental. It is people like you that make me realize why this forum is not that bad.👍

Acually the way Third talks about not visiting other churches sounds cult-like. I’m sorry but it really does:shrug: I never felt like I was in a cult when going to a Methodist Church. I could feel Gods presence because I know God does not lie within the Catholic church only.
 
Now you can convert protestants to the Catholic church more easily since you know what they are coming from. yay!!
 
It’s a one-woman mission. I just hope she don’t get ambushed.😃
 
Oh ya and at my school a bunch of Sisters and students went to a Mosque, Synogogue and an Orthodox church. I see NOTHING wrong with going to other faiths
