Yes.

Catholic God (?)
or Moslem God (?)
Is
an absolute contradiction in terms.

God is GOD. There are
NO multiples to appease
the chronically and defiantly confused.

YES!!!

God is God!! God is the Trinity. Either you accept God as the Trinity or you reject Him. Like Jesus said, whoever denies me, I will deny before the Father. 😦

Ha! That was clever the way you did that. Turned the fruits idea around on me. 😃

Muslims do not worship the Trinity, no. Sadly, they reject Him. 🤷
It’s not contrary to Church teaching. The Church has never taught that Muslims worship the Trinity, not sure where you get that. 🤷
Again, poor you.

I’m speaking of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit as you (maybe) tried to do.
Here they are:

"This passage in Matthew’s Gospel helps us to understand the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, which are the observable behaviors of people who have allowed the grace of the Holy Spirit to be effective in them. The tradition of the Church lists 12 fruits:

charity
generosity
joy
gentleness

peace
faithfulness

patience
modesty

kindness
self-control

goodness
chastity"

(adapted from CCC 1832)

So when the Church encourage us to use these fruits,
to be charitable
and generous
and gentle
and peaceful
and FAITHFUL
and patient
and kind -

for example in treating Moslems as brothers
so we might lead then to Christ.

Yet you would prefer to be
harsh and insulting and in opposition
to the well-known teachings of the Church.

Is that a fair summary of your stance?

(Must add I learned this teaching in grammar school
in the 1950s. It is NOT exactly "new" news.)

Q. Who worship ONE GOd?
A, Jews, Chrstians and Moslems.

Again, poor you.
Poor in Spirit, I pray. Lord have mercy on me.

Yes, It’s a pity that Muslims reject the Holy Spirit. But we can hope and pray for their conversion.

Why did you capitalize FAITHFUL? Are you judging my Catholicity? That is against forum rules and I could report you.

This goes without saying.

:hmmm: Pot meet kettle.

I’m not in opposition to “well-known teachings of the Church”
No matter how many times you say it.
If you break out the “H” word, I WILL report you.
Your interpretation (which I find erroneous) is different then mine, and many others.
Hopefully someday, the issue will be even further clarified.
I read it in light of Tradition. You read it at face value, which slides you down the slope of relativism.

Yep! Monotheism. Never disputed that. 👍

Correct. I have always been confused by the phrase: "…together with us they adore the one, merciful, God…"

This is wrong. Christ is God.

They reject Christ…and so it is impossible that they adore God with the Catholics.

If the CCC is truly saying this…then I believe it is mistaken…along with any other Catholic council or documents which attempts to portray this odd teaching.

Mickey!! :extrahappy:

Yeah. I don’t get it. I wish someone would explain this “along with us” part. (Without insults.)
Nobody seems to want to answer that.

**If you break out the “H” word, I WILL report you. **

Have NO CLUE what you mean by “H” word.
Good night now.

**Are you saying that following Church Teaching is sending me down a slippery slope?
BIG MISTAKE. :tsktsk:

You do not know me and I do NOT know you.
Good bye.**

Well, you’ve already attempted to call me unfaithful, defiant.
I figure the thing that comes next is:
begins with hair…ends with…tick.

It has BEEN clarified.

Yeah. Somewhat. Dominus Iesus fixes some of your erroneous opinions.

Are you saying that following Church Teaching is sending me down a slippery slope?
BIG MISTAKE.

Nope! I said your relativistic interpretation.

You do not know me and I do NOT know you.
Good bye.

I’m not sure what this has to do with me refuting your claims??
Perhaps you are taking it too personal. 🤷

Good bye!?

Catharina,

Can you please explain Mickey’s confusion about the “worshiping along with us” line in his post #427? I don’t get this either. Muslims reject Jesus, the pure sacrifice of the Holy Mass, etc. etc.

Thanks! 👍

“Hair” plus “TICK?”

Sure, dude.

Absolutely not.
I’m leaving your sphere.

Hey Jam!

I have never heard a convincing explanation pertaining to that phrase. This debate has been recycled many times on this forum…and I’m not going to stick around very long to re-hash it again. Been there…done that. 😃

But one thing is very clear to me…and I will let Sacred Scripture reslove the issue as set forth by the Quran:

Sura 4:171 (Quran)– Allah forbid that he should have a son!

1 John 2:23
(Douay-Rheims)–**Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the **Father.
