As we all know…and as I have shown…the OT shows us God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This is the Trinity. It seems that you are the only one attemptng to argue that muslims worship the same God as the Christians because somehow the Trinity is not revealed in the OT.

It may behoove you to look for another angle. 🤷
I am telling the truth. You claim the Trinity was clearly shown in the O.T.

The fullness of the Trinity which fully explains the Trinity which is the Quicumque Creed know also as the Athanasian Creed dates from the 4th century declares:

Now the Catholic faith is this, we worship One God in the Trinity, and the Trinity in unity…The Father us a distinct person, the Son is a distnct person and the Holy Spirit is a distinct person but they all have one divinity equal glory and co-eternal magesty.

You said this was taught in the O.T. I said show me. You are saying you did, I do not see it. Show me the scripture that explains to us the Trinity in the 3 persons One God.😃

Especially when we learned it in like first grade.

God from God, light from light, True God from True God.

So in order to reject what the Pope is saying, You have to reject ONE GOD. Which makes it worse because he said together with US worship the ONE TRUE GOD!

Or as usual the Vicar of Christ knows exactly what he is talking about!!😃
Not sarcastic at all -
simply, the simple TRUTH.

Ladies, please!!! Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. I think we are done here.

I did. I am sorry that you cannot see it. One of my favorites is the hospitality of Abraham in the book of Genesis.

Albeit a wanderer, Abraham was given the honor of symbolically hosting the one Lord, in His three hypostases; as hypersubstantial, in the guise of males ."
** (Canon of Midnight Prayer, ode 6
** sung on the Sunday of the Paralytic) **

St Cyril of Alexandria and St Ambrose of Milan interpreted this passage as a pre-depiction of the Holy Trinity.

And now back on topic. Islam does not accept the Holy Trinity…as revealed in the Old or the New Testament. And hence that is why it is impossible that they adore the one true God…the Trinitarian God.

Just an example of how Islam works:

Lebanon: Church Pastor Abducted for Baptizing Muslim Girl
One of the classic rules of dhimmitude, recorded in the infamous Pact of Omar – which mandates several debilitations and humiliations for non-Muslims living under Islam (it was first ratified with the conquered Christians of Syria) – commands Christians never to convert Muslims to their religion. If they do so, their blood becomes halal, or free game.

Some fourteen centuries later, not much has changed. According to Al Ahram, on May 7, “unknown persons” tracked down and abducted the Christian pastor of Our Lady of Assistance Church, in Baalbek, Lebanon, a Hezbollah stronghold. The reason? He baptized a Muslim woman who, after being trapped in her parents’ house, escaped and came to him, wishing to become Christian.

Expanding on Mickey’s observations:
In addition, the prophets of the OT are prototypes of the ultimate Prophet, Jesus. Most especially is Moses a Type who foreshadows Jesus, whom the evangelist Matthew images as The New Moses in The Sermon on the Mount. Further, the ruach ha-kodesh (apologies for my absence of a Hebrew keyboard) in the OT, is clearly an alternative name for The Holy Spirit, the Breath of God – a phrase used often in Christian literature. Jesus Himself breathes on his disciples. Sacred Scripture is One, in Catholic tradition: OT <—> NT

CCC 237 But his immost being as Holy Trinity is a mystery that is UNACCESSIBLE to REASON alone or ISRAELS faith BEFORE the Incarnation of God’s Son sending of the Holy Spirit.

As ususal lines perfectly in line with the Pope!😃

Most Jews do not realize how interdependent the NT and the OT are, and how foundationally similar their theology is in various core areas, to Christianity.

Conversely, most Muslims do not realize (according to Robert Spencer’s 30+ years of research) how dissimilar Islam is to Christiainity.

I first learned the teaching of the Church regarding
monotheism in the early 1950s. I was about six yrs old.

So why would anyone insist that the Church
“CLARIFY” this now? It has been repeatedly clarified -
and long before Vatican II. Why would anyone doubt
that Jews, Christians and Moslems worship one GOD?

That is the essence of monotheism.
How can it be confusing to anyone? It’s so simple!

It is not simple at all. The Christians worship a Trinitarian God…Father, Son and Holy Spirit…the Trinity one in essence and undivided. The muslims reject this outright.

Many people are confused as to why the Catholic Church might be saying that muslims, along with Catholics, adore the same God.

Is the Catholic Church separating out the Father from the Son and the Holy Spirit and saying that the Muslims worship God the Father…but not God the Son and God the Holy Spirit?

I hope not.

The Catholic Church does say that Christians and Moslems
(and Jews) worship one GOD because there IS only ONE GOD.

People who dispute or reject this teaching are the ones who
choose to “separate out” the three Divine Persons of the Trinity, and
that objection seems incredible to me … since there is ONLY ONE GOD!

Our God is Trinitarian. Muslims and Jews reject Christ and the Holy Spirit…it is not the same worship as Christians. They are showing adoration to a deity that is foreign to Christians. Your Pope needs to clarify.

Our Pope NEEDS to clarify nothing for you. It has been clarified.

Perhaps if you’d stayed with Rome, you’d better understand,
although it is so simple.

There is only ONE GOD.
How one does or doesn’t define “one GOD,” doesn’t CHANGE GOD.

Worshipping ONE GOD, one worships GOD Alone.
Your approval is not required for this, as you know.

Also your personal dispproval holds no
relevance for the Church or for Catholics.

It is pertinent because it displays Muslims following the command of the god they worship, that commands to kill apostates.
That’s not my God!

This was extremely condescending and uncharitable.

The moderator has warned of personal attacks.

Yet the Church teaches that God is God.
God is One. So your argument then is with the Church?
