Prove it.
I need to prove NOTHING.

You’ve said repeatedly that the God
of Moslems can NOT be the God of Christians.

The Church says the opposite.
The Church says that both groups (and the Jews) worship ONE GOD

… and we ALL know there is ONLY ONE GOD.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. I am the great and powerful Islamic god.

It has been clarified.
And yet many are still confused by what seems like a contradiction.
Perhaps if you’d stayed with Rome, you’d better understand
I was there long enough to understand many things. I also understand that the moderator has asked that this not get personal. Please abide by the rules.
Worshipping ONE GOD, one worships GOD Alone.
God is Trinitarian…muslims reject that.
Your approval is not required for this, as you know.
This is a debate forum. I am permited to participate.

You continue to say “many are still confused.”
I can see that a very few are still confused.
So, in all charity, It’s likely that I do understand
a bit more re Catholic teaching since I have stayed
true to the Faith and within the Church.

That’s not a personal insult.
It’s a simple truthful observation.

It is my understanding that this is
a forum for discussion, not for debate.

So your own views of some “other God” wprshipped by
some other faiths must stand alone as highly variant and
opposed to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Therefore your “approval” is neither required or relevant -
if I undersatnd your objections to this truth as taught by the Church.

You continue to say "many are still confused…
Yes. I was Latin Catholic for more than 38 years…then Eastern Catholic for at least eight. There are very many who are either confused by this “teaching” or outright disagree with it…including monks I have spoken with.

Therefore your “approval” is neither required or relevant
I am not asking for your approval. I am setting forth the premise as to why the teaching is troubling to many of the faithful and knowledgeable within the Catholic Church. If you do not like what I have to say…you do not have to respond. I only ask that you stop your uncharitable attacks against those who disagree with you.

I will say again since you choose to ignore an important fact:
As Karl Keating stated in April 2004:

**“The Catholic Answers discussion forums went “live” on May 15. We’re glad you have found them.” **

As I said:
“Not a debate forum as you have claimed”,
but rather a Discussion Forum as I thought “everyone” knew.

I can find no reference calling this a DEBATE forum.
I can recall many moderators saying the opposite!

We are here to discuss, not to debate.

I have not attacked you with a lack of charity.

Rather, as charitably as possible, I have “corrected” you when you are mistaken -
for example, you call this a DEBATE forum. NO, it is NOT that.

LOL! Are you serious? :rotfl:

Part of the purpose for this type of forum is for debate.
I’m quite serious and you are disagreeing with the set principles of this forum.

Now I must say with great relief that I shall disengage from you and your views
since there is no way to continue any discussion when you have subverted that
term. You want DEBATE??? Go look for some. It should not take place here.

G’bye now.

"CCC 841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
WOW. Post # 3 in this very thread!
It says it all.
Some accept the teachings of the church.
Others dissent from the teachings of the Church.

It is SO simple!

I thought that was the purpose of CAF -

Discuss - Debate & this thread was in the** Non-Catholic section**.

Perhaps you might ask the mods to move this thread into the Catholic section so you may continue.

I’m not Catholic, but I do not agree with CCC841. And being here for quite some time, I know some Catholics on this forum & on the internet who do not agree with CCC841

Thanks to God this is not a problem for the Orthodox to explain.

Peace

Very interesting and very helpful, jakasaki.
I do humbly thank you. So a dfferent
and separate rule exists for THIS forum.

Very very very interesting.
Again, my thanks.

My dear Catharina

I’ve read your posts for years & years as well as others on here and many -a- times, I’ve kept my mouth shut.

You are tenacious, aren’t you.

There are no separate rules on CAF…

CAF is what it is.

Rules are rules.

I was simply stating that this is discuss & debate site. Simply that.

If this “CAF” was members only as in Catholics ONLY, then we would not be allowed in here.

So therefore you have a handful of posters from all sorts, including Catholics who do not agree with CCC841 -

Matthew 5:39 = And Jesus said… “turn the other cheek”

What gets my “on my throat” on this forum is how quickly we Christians turn against each other and islam is laughing.

May I suggest that this thread has outlived any usefulness it might once have had?

Sufism does not represent Islam at all, it’s considered a "]heretic group by Sunnis and Shias Muslims…
Just my opinion, but having known Sufis, I feel much more in common with them than I do with fundamentalist Muslims. Sufis, along with Chasidic Jews, have a mystical tradition which has some common threads with Christian mysticism.
