Maybe there’s something to this that we’re missing…because it does sound rather heartless. I can’t imagine a bishop of the Holy Catholic Church suggesting such a course of action…

And sometimes the only tool we have to reach an answer to that question is to ask, “Have they ever lied to us before?”
