Seriously though, very few men I know or observed have been truly upset over objectifying women in general unless a family member/loved one is concerned (or at least, upset enough to cut off ties). I’ve also never met a woman who cares about it if the guy in question is someone they like. If anything, they’re lightly offended. Even I find myself having a high tolerance for crappy behavior/more forgiveness when it comes to the people I love or admire.
Obviously you can’t generalize this to the whole population and I’m not saying that all of us are terrible. I’m just saying I’m not surprised enough to ask why there are Catholics who love Trump/any other bad guy when it comes to a rather small issue (saying sexist crap isn’t the same compared to say something like a genocide, where you simply cannot justify it)
The conversation may be fruitless. What would be more interesting, however, is a conversation about the Church v. Catholics on women. How they view/talk about people themselves would be a better answer as to why they support certain people I think?
