The way the church is going, they will eventually have to make some changes, The Pope has the power, whatever he looses on earth is also loosed in heaven & whatever he binds on earth is also bound in heaven. The Pope does have the power to change things…
This is the last comment I’m making on this discussion, since it’s off-topic (this thread is about a church without kneelers): the Church’s ability to bind and loose is not carte blanche, but only exists within the tradition (that which is received) of the Church.

A Pope has no power to grant ordination to women, nor to permit the Eucharist to be celebrated with Doritos and beer.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t ever handle a female priest, I mean should men become nuns? Ok, that was a dumb statement but Father Linda?

But yes, this meandered way off topic. 🤷

There’s a lot that comes up when I search on it and a great article from EWTN, WHY WOMEN CAN’T BE PRIESTS. It makes sense about the 12 apostles.

My church in South Florida does not have kneelers and many of the centurions kneel right on the floor which is NOT soft. It is stone. When my fiance had only a couple weeks from knee surgery he kneeled next to me (and please don’t anyone who is very old or infirm take my next comment personally). I reminded him that those who are unable to kneel can stay seated. He reminded me of this: “Jesus was sentenced to death, tortured, carried his own cross up a hill, placed on it, had four nails and a spear driven through him, and still forgave us. I can kneel for him for five or ten minutes.”

God bless,

Kneeling has always felt ‘right’ to me.
So I always kneel.
If you love this parish without kneelers, then yes, go ahead and kneel anyway.
I felt weird being the only one kneeling, so I would usually go to the children’s room where there are only four or five other parishoners and kneel on the floor in there.
Also, I would suggest sitting far far away from everyone else, and then you can kneel without jamming your praying hands into the back of the person in the pew in front.

Sorry, but you’re wrong. Secular priests are not “hired.” But it is simply not true that women can or ever will be ordained. The time may come when out of necessity married men are allowed to be ordained as a more regular practice in the Latin church. But unless you can show us where the Vatican is wrong on its statements regarding women and the priesthood, you should avoid that thought and focus on the subject at hand.

Yes they are , they receive a salary, & also they can ask to be moved from one parish to another. Also I* am not against My church, But as an onlooker, I have a right to my opinion as to what I see happening

Actually, if you check the documents, you’ll see that it says priestly ordination. This also rules out episcopal ordination, which may only be conferred on priests.

The door has not been (and likely will never be) totally closed on the deaconess. Especially since the order of the Deaconesses is in use in several of our Orthodox sister-churches.

Please take side discussions to new or existing threads in the appropriate fora. Thank you all.

I need them badly. My knees aren’t in great shape and I need all the cushioning I can get.
