I think the headline is misleading. Granted, the lawsuit alleges that the fee is a tax of church attendance, but I don’t think the facts bear that out.

The fee is based on usage of the driveway to the parking lot, and our earlier discussion of this case showed that the driveway (at least in the case of the Catholic church) gets used for many more activities than for church services.

Land of the free, home of the brave, what a joke. Beware of the Sheriff of Nottingham.

It may be a parking lot thing, but it’s church property and the government has no business meddling there. You know the government in Minneapolis, I think, tried interfering with diocesan affairs about 2-3 years ago. I think it’s called “nudging.”

Beware King George the 3rd! When the black robe brigade spoke out, he had their churches burnt–sometimes with people in them. We have had more safeguards built than the colonists had, but they’re being whittled away by those who cry “separation of church and state”, when it suits them to do so and many of us cower and move the 10 Commandments, for example, to church lawns, despite that they are observed by Jews and Christians.

I have already emailed most of the churches on the Kansas side that I could find email addresses for, but I only got 2 responses back so far. There isn’t a lot of interest as far as I can see. I’m not great at this kind of thing. I put up a board here warpspeedpetey.com for a place to organize them. If anyone is interested I am working on another issue with some of the folks at a local TV station, so I think if I could find the people for prayer vigils during council meetings, or other actions. I might be able to get a camera or two out there for the cause. (maybe).

We need leaders to handle this issue. If anyone wants to help, please visit the link and lets organize as many Christians of all stripes that we can here in Kansas city. I posted the email I sent, its amateur but if anyone wants to get some ideas or all the contact information on the Mayor or the Town Council, feel free to copy, email or use it any way you like to generate interest. Its important that we do what we can to keep the hands of the state out of our collection plates. Every dollar they take in taxes is a dollar less for Schools, Eucharistic Ministries, Missions (pun intended, and on and on.

Thanks to anyone that wants to help:knight1:
