This was my first thought. These parentsProtesting, holding signs, and signing petitions because they don’t want to be role models for Catholicity? Fire them then. Get them out of the school system so they don’t infect anymore children… Obviously, there is a reason the diocese has taken this kind of action. To me, it’s crystal clear.

I wouldn’t want someone who disapproves of what the Catholic Church stands for making my wedding cake. Talk about bad karma. However I do also like the question about why the baker or photographer doesn’t just decline the business without going into why. Back to first point - but even if a gay or Islam baker went off on me about Catholics and declined to take my wedding cake order, don’t think I’d sue…there’s some more seriously bad karma. And lastly, when Catholics sue the Catholic Church over these kinds of dismissals (failure to adhere to moral contract)…not much you can say … pass the aspirin.
It sounds like the base line point is that these people are trying to force their ideas on others and force them to lower themselves to their lower standards of morality.They don’t seem content with just being angry, they want to see, by some kind of force, their morality, or absence of morality, imposed on those of us who adhere to a higher standard, God’s Law. I can see the reasoning of the baker or photographer not giving “excuses” although, it would seem like the thing to do if they knew what trouble was brewing for them if they didn’t. They (I believe) are taking a stand for their faith regardless of the consequences. But…you hit the nail on the head as far as homosexual couples asking people that they probably KNOW don’t believe in their cause. This I have pondered time and again how these situations are likely staged for the wide publicity they receive.
