Although Cindy Sheehan has seriously embarrassed the president, she has not succeeded in driving him to drink. GWB was a heavy drinker when he was younger, and there is danger that he might seek to relieve tensions by hitting the bottle.

Instead, he is engaged in strenuous exercise to calm his nerves. The government is on auto-pilot while he concentrates on riding his bicycle.

We may not be winning the war in Iraq, but GWB is holding his own against psychological pressures.

I don’t think personally the President has anything to be embarassed about… :twocents:
I find it admirable as well that he’s found a healthy outlet to replace a bad behavior. He should encourage us all to move a bit more. Funny how when GWB exercizes it’s an embarassment but WJC eating too many cheeseburgers is endearing. :confused:

Well, now that’s a good thing. Though do you have insider knowledge that he isn’t nipping at the bottle while riding his bike? Or conferring with Condi instead of having the government on autopilot while biking?:whistle:

My BIL hit me with an interesting line of reasoning this weekend. He approves of Cindy Sheehan and opposes the war in Iraq and Pres. Bush. “The GOP spent $60 million investigating Bill Clinton’s behavior with Monica Lewinsky and no one was killed!” (Really, this is an otherwise intelligent man.):banghead:
 
Does anyone know what her “goal” is? Does she even know what her goal is?

She is grieving in a very public way. The leftists are paying her lots of attention and money. It has become her job. I think for her it is something to do. She is compelled to do something, and she is mad.
 
Grieving is normal, understandable and expected. I wish she would get over her mad, though. The only person it’s hurting is her.

The only person Madame Sheehan has embarrassed is her family…maybe herself. The rest of your post sounds a bit uncharitable to me. 😦
 
I feel sorry for that lady that she lost her son, but what in the world does she think she’s doing? How can she possibly blame her son’s death on the president? HER SON WAS NOT DRAFTED!!! He enlisted on his own. He knew the danger. Thats her perogotive to not support the war but she’s slapping everyone else in the face doing this stuff on tv.

I wouldn’t meet with her either if I was GW. If he met with every person who challenged him in the press, he wouldn’t have time to do his job.

She and the ‘carnival’ atmosphere in Crawford will soon pack up their carts, exhibits and etc and move elsewhere when they finally raalize that GWB is not going to cave in to her wishes. President Bush already met with her and she thinks that’s not good enough. Cindy Move On. You already had your chance!

I thought about this too. I know many want their 15 minutes. I don’t think that of Cindy. I do think she has alligned herself with the far left. They are passionate about what they think and they will stop and nothing. Case in point: Code Pink is also protesting at a military hospital and showing newly arrived injured soldiers signs that criticise their involvement in the war.

I feel sorry for Cindy and I pray for her. I really do. She will crash one day and I pray she finds God to help her.

Neither do I. And it sounds like another stretch to attack her cause she is against the war. Can I have a link that directs me to where she stated she wishes to drive him to drink in order to prove this isnt an act of bearing false witness against ones neighbor?
 
Well, I hate to give Mr. Moore credit for anything, but I think he realizes that any more visible support from him would diminish what “creditability” she has. She’s blogging from his site, and I imagine that’s enough.

As for Hillary, she’s too busy moving to the “center” to get ready for 2008 to get involved in anything this far to the left.

They are there in spirit I am sure. Maybe Michael has someone filming this for later use for a new movie. It does seem like this type of event.

I don’t remember seeing where anyone stated, or even implied, that she wished to drive Bush to drink. Where did you get that from? The original statement was that Bush had had a drinking problem in the past and that he was dealing with his current stress by exercising. It had absolutely nothing to do with her intentions. My, how things can bet twisted.

They do not need to be there. Cindy has liberal media momentum already. The other cast members are off insiciting others. All in a day’s work for Hillary and her cohorts.
 
Cindy has the right to free speech. She has exercised that right. Where is her failure?
I disagree with her message, but I don’t seek to silence her.
