Steve O'Brien:
Tomorrow, which will be the solemnity of the Assumption (a holy day that honors another grief-stricken mother who lost her son to state-sponsored violence), please attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to honor the Mother of God and to pray for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Since the message of Our Lady of Fatima tells us that war is a punishment for sin, please include this intention: that the horror of legalized abortion will be ended in our country and throughout the world.

In addition, please participate in demonstrations that are planned for tomorrow to manifest solidarity with Cindy Sheehan. In New York, the demonstration will begin in Union Square at 5 P.M.

Keep and spread the Faith.
It just gets sadder and sadder. Cindy Sheehan dishonors her son by using his death to push a far left wing political agenda. You use one of our most joyful feasts to push you far left wing agenda.

Since you posted Sheehans statement could you please post The Blessed Mothers statement where she called for the withdrawal of al US troops from Iraq?. I assume she also mentioned that the Iraq war was the result of Bush’s sin and not the Saddamms sin?

Do you think the Bessed Mother supports Cindy Sheehans call for the elimnation of Israel? Do you agree with Cindy on this point?

A message to Cindy Sheehan
I realize how tragic your loss is and I know how much pain there is crushing your heart and I know the darkness that suddenly came to wrap your life and wipe away your dreams and I do feel the heat of your tears that won’t dry until you find the answers to your question; why you lost your loved one?

I have heard your story and I understand that you have the full right to ask people to stand by your side and support your cause. At the beginning I told myself, this is yet another woman who lost a piece of her heart and the questions of war, peace and why are killing her everyday. To be frank to you the first thing I thought of was like "why should I listen or care to answer when there are thousands of other women in America, Iraq and Afghanistan who lost a son or a husband or a brother…”

But today I was looking at your picture and I saw in your eyes a persistence, a great pain and a torturing question; why?

I know how you feel Cindy, I lived among the same pains for 35 years but worse than that was the fear from losing our loved ones at any moment. Even while I’m writing these words to you there are feelings of fear, stress, and sadness that interrupt our lives all the time but in spite of all that I’m sticking hard to hope which if I didn’t have I would have died years ago.

Ma’am, we asked for your nation’s help and we asked you to stand with us in our war and your nation’s act was (and still is) an act of ultimate courage and unmatched sense of humanity.
Our request is justified, death was our daily bread and a million Iraqi mothers were expecting death to knock on their doors at any second to claim someone from their families.
Your face doesn’t look strange to me at all; I see it everyday on endless numbers of Iraqi women who were struck by losses like yours.

Our fellow country men and women were buried alive, cut to pieces and thrown in acid pools and some were fed to the wild dogs while those who were lucky enough ran away to live like strangers and the Iraqi mother was left to grieve one son buried in an unfound grave and another one living far away who she might not get to see again.

We did nothing to deserve all that suffering, well except for a dream we had; a dream of living like normal people do.

We cried out of joy the day your son and his comrades freed us from the hands of the devil and we went to the streets not believing that the nightmare is over.
We practiced our freedom first by kicking and burning the statues and portraits of the hateful idol who stole 35 years from the life of a nation.
For the first time air smelled that beautiful, that was the smell of freedom.

The mothers went to break the bars of cells looking for the ones they lost 5, 12 or 20 years ago and other women went to dig the land with their bare hand searching for a few bones they can hold in their arms after they couldn’t hold them when they belonged to a living person.

I recall seeing a woman on TV two years ago, she was digging through the dirt with her hands. There was no definite grave in there as the whole place was one large grave but she seemed willing to dig the whole place looking for her two brothers who disappeared from earth 24 years ago when they were dragged from their colleges to a chamber of hell.

Her tears mixed with the dirt of the grave and there were journalists asking her about what her brothers did wrong and she was screaming “I don’t know, I don’t know. They were only college students. They didn’t murder anyone, they didn’t steal, and they didn’t hurt anyone in their lives. All I want to know is the place of their grave”.

Why was this woman chosen to lose her dear ones? Why you? Why did a million women have to go through the same pain?

We did not choose war for the sake of war itself and we didn’t sacrifice a million lives for fun! We could’ve accepted our jailor and kept living in our chains for the rest of our lives but it’s freedom ma’am.
Freedom is not an American thing and it’s not an Iraqi thing, it’s what unites us as human beings. We refuse all kinds of restrictions and that’s why we fought and still fighting everyday in spite of the swords in the hands of the cavemen who want us dead or slaves for their evil masters.

cont…

You are free to go and leave us alone but what am I going to tell your million sisters in Iraq? Should I ask them to leave Iraq too? Should I leave too? And what about the eight millions who walked through bombs to practice their freedom and vote? Should they leave this land too?
Is it a cursed land that no one should live in? Why is it that we were chosen to live in all this pain, why me, why my people, why you?

But I am not leaving this land because the bad guys are not going to leave us or you to live in peace. They are the same ones who flew the planes to kill your people in New York.
I ask you in the name of God or whatever you believe in; do not waste your son’s blood.
We here have decided to avenge humanity, you and all the women who lost their loved ones.
Take a look at our enemy Cindy, look closely at the hooded man holding the sword and if you think he’s right then I will back off and support your call.

We live in pain and grief everyday, every hour, every minute; all the horrors of the powers of darkness have been directed at us and I don’t know exactly when am I going to feel safe again, maybe in a year, maybe two or even ten; I frankly don’t know but I don’t want to lose hope and faith.

We are in need for every hand that can offer some help. Please pray for us, I know that God listens to mothers’ prayers and I call all the women on earth to pray with you for peace in this world.

Your son sacrificed his life for a very noble cause…No, he sacrificed himself for the most precious value in this existence; that is freedom.

His blood didn’t go in vain; your son and our brethren are drawing a great example of selflessness.
God bless his free soul and God bless the souls of his comrades who are fighting evil.
God bless the souls of Iraqis who suffered and died for the sake of freedom.
God bless all the freedom lovers on earth.

Working against war and for world peace is “left-wing”? Huh?

Were Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger lefties because they publicly opposed the U.S. invasion of Iraq? I’m with the Popes on this issue.

The terms “left” and “right” are becoming increasingly unhelpful in a context in which we see “conservative” political commentators (for example, Patrick Buchanan and Joseph Sobran) writing anti-war material that could, with little or no editing, appear in the pages of *Socialist Worker * or other anti-war publications.

Please check out this site, which is hardly “far left-wing”:

Is the Catholic Church pushing a “far left-wing political agenda” in her official catechism? Here’s what the Church, speaking to us in the name of Christ, teaches us about war:

***"The fifth commandment forbids the intentional destruction of human life. Because of the evils and injustices that accompany all war, the Church insistently urges everyone to prayer and to action so that the divine Goodness may free us from the ancient bondage of war.

“All citizens and all governments are obliged to work for the avoidance of war” (sections 2307-2308).***

Yes, the catechism goes on to allow the possibility of *defensive * military action–under a set of rigorous provisos which were *not * respected in the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Above all, Iraq posed no imminent threat to the United States; thus, the first of the catechism’s conditions was violated:

***“the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain” (section 2309). ** *

On the contrary, in the invasion of Iraq, our own country (which we should love, but which is far from morally perfect) was the aggressor. This is a fact for which we should do penance, as we should also do penance for other national sins, such as legalized surgical and chemical abortion and the judicial murder of Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

Those “cafeteria Catholics” who obstinately dissent from the Magisterium’s teachings on war should prayerfully study the catechism’s discussion of this issue. Pro-war Catholics should also steep themselves in the relevant teachings of Vatican II: Gaudium et spes, sections 77-90.

Keep and spread the Faith.

To the best of my knowledge, Mrs. Sheehan has *not * called for the elimination of Israel. What she said was this:

***“You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you’ll stop the terrorism.” ** *

What Cindy Sheehan said about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict can plausibly be interpreted in this sense: Israel should at last comply with U.N. Security Council Resolution 242 by withdrawing all her troops from the occupied Palestinian territories.

This, by the way, is the position that the U.S. government took when it voted for Resolution 242 in 1967. And it is a position with which I agree.

Keep and spread the Faith.

Pope Benedict is against the immediate withdrawl of the troops form Iraq.

I’m desperately trying to be charitable here…but comparing this lady to Mary is insane. Yes, she lost a child but this comparison seems illogical. When did we see Mary railing at “the powers that be” after her son’s death? She knew what her Son was doing…and why. This woman doesn’t, she’s just lashing out and being led along a primrose path by others who would exploit her pain for their own gain. So stop comparing her to our blessed mother. It’s sick.

Actually, in a certain sense, we see Mary railing at the “powers that be” *before * the death of her Divine Son:

***“He has shown might with his arm,
dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.
He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones
but lifted up the lowly.
The hungry he has filled with good things;
the rich he has sent away empty” (Lk * 1:51-53; 1986 NAB).

You do know that Palestine, as far as the PLA and most of the US is concerned includes all of Israel, right? See:

I won’t call it either left-wing or right-wing. I will say that working against those fighting terrorism and tyranny does nothing to promote world peace.

Steve O’Brien said:
***“You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you’ll stop the terrorism.” ***

Naive. And backwards–stop the terrorism, then America can leave Iraq. Remove America first, and terrorism increases as its only substantial opposition is gone.

LOL, man this woman has really gone off the wall… They’ve got great facilities for people like her.
That is if Bush’s neighbors do not get her first. I saw on Fox News where they are getting fed up with her and her cadre.

She’s a really convenient shield for a lot of people. They throw out accusations, criticisms, and insults–rational or irrational–with no apparent restraint. But when anyone who is critical in return, there is a chorus of “Shame on you! she’s grieving! restrain yourself!”

This is a little reminiscent of Ilana Wexler–the 12 year old who not only criticized, but publicly ridiculed and mocked Vice President Cheney at the democratic convention. They expected everyone to take the 12-year old’s ridicule seriously, but when if anyone criticized it they used the “don’t criticize her, she’s only 12” shield.

Cindy Sheehan is going to actually hurt the anti-war cause when it comes to adding Americans who supported Bush in 2004. The news coming out of Iraq with respect to the all the bombing and killing of Americans and Iraqis is enough to have many Bush supporters reconsider the war. But this Cindy Sheehan lady is so out there and a media darling, that you feel almost compelled to have sympathy for Bush, atleast those with a heart. At the same time you have compassion and sympathize with Cindy Sheehan for the death of her son, but it pretty much ends there.

Other than than moonbat wing of the Democrat party they are backing away from her fast as they can.

And what has she accomplished? Her marriage is destroyed, shes estranged from her family and she has dishonered her son. And we all know that her new found friends will soon be deserting her,. Sad ,so sad.

Antiwar.com is not left-wing?
*Antiwar.com * publishes news reports and columns written from a broad spectrum of perspectives: “left-wing,” “right-wing,” “libertarian,” and indiscernible.

Among its contributors are Congressman Ron Paul (one of the most “conservative” members of Congress), Paul Craig Roberts (assistant secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration), and Pat Buchanan (who needs no introduction).

Man, if you think those guys are lefties, then you and I aren’t living on the same planet. 😃

But please don’t take my word for it. Read *Antiwar.com * for a few days, and make your own judgment. I’d like to see your reaction.
