But we don’t have our sons circumcised because of God’s promise to Abraham. St. Paul even said " e For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.*" The quote I posted said it’s allowed for cultural traditions.
No you don’t, you do it because Mr Kellogg pushed really hard for it AND for female circumcision to curb masturbation. Thankfully the female version didn’t take but males did. It caught on in America and it resurfaced.

The church didn’t do it for centuries.

Actually, we had our son circumcised because my husband is. That was the only reason. I don’t even know who Mr. Kellogg is. He had no (name removed by moderator)ut in any of our life choices.

You have no connection to how the US got into debt but you pay income tax.

What does that have to do with circumcision? I’m missing something here.

Just because you don’t know or not aware of how something started doesn’t mean it doesn’t impact you.

He did a thing, it became a trend then a tradition.

It doesn’t need to be.

Well. I’m gonna leave this here and move on: I’ve stated why my son was circumcised. I don’t know (or care) who Mr. Kellogg is and we pay income tax. Have a good evening.

Circumcising children is a messy area. I for one do not believe in circumcision as it is genital mutilation. It is not practiced throughout Europe by Christians except maybe Great Britain which were very judeophillic at one time. I would trust your wife on this as it is not necessary for life but a growing trend that is baseless in anything other than enforcing judaic concepts of religion such as purity and salvation. Comparing the genitals of your children as if they need to look alike is quite odd as well. God made us the way we are, there is no need to submit an innocent baby to circumcision.

where I grew up, the rich kids has braces and glasses, so they were considered cool
That’s interesting! My family was blue collar.
I don’t know… I grew up in Rural Delaware. I graduated high school in 1995.

For us, if both parents were public school teachers (with Master’s degrees), you were rich.
