The rainbow is a Christian symbol. I’ve also seen vestments decorated with flowery type embellishments. I don’t see a problem with that either. Vestments don’t have to be totally plain jane or only embroidered in certain standard ways. Though they ought to be of the appropriate primary liturgical color for the day.
Isn’t the rainbow a symbol used by Cursilla? De Coloris or soething like that. Course in St. Paul, MN the rainbow sash has been adopted by the Gay community.

This is the symbol of the Roman Catholic Cursillo Movement:

“De Colores” is the “theme song” of the Cursillo Movement. Other “Cursillo” type programs (Emmaus, Kairos, Methodist Cursillo, etc). The rainbow comes from the De Colores song and is used by the Cursillo Movement and other programs.

The rooster represents the patron saint, St. Peter, of the Cursillo Movement. Other programs also use the rooster, but not for the same reason (De Colores has a rooster in it.)

The Roman Catholic Cursillo Movement was so successful that other denominations used the framework to create their own program.
