Reading about this and the “Effort by Homosexual-Rights Activists Target Eight U.S. Bishops” is causing me so much anger, on border line sinful rage.

It’s getting to the point if the someone wanted to start an orthodox Catholic colony in Antarctica, I might seriously consider moving there… 😦
As I have known for many years, the radical homosexuals are all about compulsion. They demand that their unnatural behaviors not only be tolerated, but, moreover, supported. Their problem is that they think with their genitals first, and their brains last. 😊

and houston is the city where the abortion “clinic” that looks like a cash register is located.

The mayor can’t do this. I am sure she would give pass to those who endorse her, but she’s attacking those who follow the bible.

Well, the voters put the mayor in office. What does that say about Houston’s voters? This is a reminder of you get what you elected. I’m not saying that all of Houston is to blame. I’m sure that there are many Protestants and Catholics voters of Houston that are disgusted with the city’s decision to issue the subpoenas. But this sure does look like tyranny on the city’s part.

Update, I think the city and Mayor are backing off trying to issue subpoenas to the pastors.

Yep! I am already taking my money elsewhere. There are plenty of places to shop outside the city limits.

A Yahoo story from late yesterday says:
Neither the mayor nor City Attorney David Feldman were aware the subpoenas had been issued until yesterday.
So the mayor, nor the attorney for the city didn’t know about subpoenas until Oct. 14? That’s the same day Fox first ran the story. I wonder if the mayor was sitting around with the city attorney watching Fox News and all of a sudden they were like, “What! No way!”

I wonder how the Mayor explains this tweet she sent out the day the subpoenas were issued:

If the 5 pastors used pulpits for politics, their sermons are fair game. Were instructions given on filling out anti-[ordinance] petition?”

I’m guessing either the Yahoo sentence is false, or she won’t “explain” it. :o

They are backpedaling as fast as they can. This law was wildly unpopular when it passed. Even many who agreed with it in theory were opposed to it as they believed, rightly so, that it was going to plunge the city into acrimonious debate .It turns out it did. The ironic part is it was one of those feel good laws that really had little effect on businesses but allowed the Mayor to look like a champion of homosexual rights.

The end result is it is hurting Houston ability to attract new Businesses as owners on both sides of the issue are upset about the way things have turned out.

It sounds like the situation is a bit unclear and people are out there trying to interpret exactly what happened and what is the significance.

I didn’t mention the word subpoenas. News stories evolve and what is always reported does not necessarily depict what is actually going on.
Well, the subpoenas exist and that is a fact.

The city attorney was taking a hard stand on them until the heat came with the revelation that the city was targeting non-plaintiffs, now he doesn’t know what is going on. Down here, we call that crawfishing.

Peace

Tim

So how is the City Attorney quoted defending the subpoenas in the original articles?

Yeah. LOL.
Very disingenuous with their words when they say they weren’t aware the subpoenas had been issued until

Sure, they maybe didn’t know they exact moment when it would happen.

Imagine Herod asking John the Baptist for an advance copy of his sermons.

That’s odd. Snopes calls the claim that the subpoenas targeted sermons about homosexuality, transgender issues, and Mayor Parker false, yet the pdf of the subpoena that they include in their article confirms that those things are indeed targeted.
It’s Thursday night, so maybe my brain is not as fresh as it would be… 😊

But where in the Snopes article do you see them say this is false? I can’t see it.

Thanks in advance.
