How close are they to energy break-even? I didn’t see it in the article.
Haven’t they always been ‘close’ since the 50’s?

This is why I’m a huge fan of LFTR reactors.
They offer a huge step increase in safety and the basic technology is proven.
Such thorium reactors just need the support to go commercial, but we keep building water reactors.

That may be true, but until they can get beyond energy break-even, nuclear will not be viable. However I see no reason why they won’t get there eventually. There is no law of physics that says it is impossible.

My favorite fusion reactor is still the one that is 96,000,000 miles away.

The good news is the IPCC has started signaling we won’t see the crazy warming they were pushing, or 3-8C.

I take the below report by the IPCC as signaling warming will be much lower than they were selling (3-8C). They are now attempting to change the narrative for modest warming. If the temperature won’t go where they want then they’ll just predict catastrophe at the warming we will likely get.

Special Report

Global Warming of 1.5 ºC

This one is kind of funny - the glaciers are ‘off message’
They are growing instead of receding

Glacier National Park Quietly Removes Its ‘Gone by 2020’ Signs – Watts Up With That?
Fake news. Here’s the truth:

The decision to quit the field was his and his alone. The so-called attacks he suffered are reported here by McKitrick himself - an obviously non-objective source. More fake news.
How else would you expect an allegation to be reported, if not by the victim.

You failed to show it was false.
Your desperation is growing

Your link has data over a decade old, and it’s not about Glacier National Park
You are really desperate
At the beginning of your “guest blogger” article is:

Glaciers Appear to be Growing, not Melting in Recent Years

not “Grinnell Glacier and the Jackson Glacier” appear to be growing. The “fake news” is the implication that glaciers in general are growing, which is quite wrong.

Also, measuring glacier growth over 2 or 3 years is meaningless in the face of a 50-year trend. At this point the measurements are more reflective of short-term weather variations. That two ways in which this was fake news.

Since the “victim” has presented no evidence of his being forced out, there is nothing to refute. He decided to leave the field. What went on in his head when he did that is beyond me, but claims of being forced to do it are highly suspicious.

Since every comment in the article was about Glaciers in that park, I think it was clear the article was referring to those glaciers. There was no specific reference to global glaciers, that’s something you chose to read into it.

Then you chose to ignore all the detail on the glaciers mentioned in the article and call if fake news, by referencing other glacier data that’s 1+ decades old.

Try responding to the article in front of you. you could have hedged and just said, ‘it may be true there but it’s not a global trend’

Also, I thought this article was about people having to quietly walk back an alarmist position that wasn’t going to come to pass (by 2020).

I certainly believe glaciers over all will continue to decline gradually in size.

Let me see if I have this right.

When lake levels are dropping, it’s caused by Climate Change and we should expect it to get much worse.

When lake levels are rising, it’s also caused by Climate Change and will get worse.

Head scratching?

Climate change is the universal explanation for all weather events. If your only tool is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
