Clinton: Hillary Would Be Better Prez Than Me

Former President Clinton said in an interview Friday that he believes his wife would do a better job than he did in the nation’s highest office.

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton has not said whether she plans to run in 2008. Nonetheless, her husband told Israel’s Channel Two television that her experience as first lady would help make her a strong president.

“In some ways she would be (better) because of what we did together,” he said from New York. “First, she has the Senate experience I didn’t have. Second, she would have had the eight years in the White House.”

“I think she wouldn’t make as many mistakes because, you know, we’re older and more mature, and she is far more experienced now in all the relevant ways than I was when I took office,” he added. “So I think in a way she has the best of both worlds.”

Do you think she will get the Democratic nomination? I have a hard time believing it but the only way I see it happening is if all the Clinton supporters see it as a way to give Bill another possible 8 years. However, I seriousy doubt she could ever win. What do you think?

I don’t think she can win. But, this is an attempt to let the people know that it will be even better under Hillary.

We’ll have to see who’d be running against her before declaring her the loser. I’d sure like to have the chance to see whether it will be better under Hillary. 🙂

With all due respect, I believe a horse’s patoot could do a better job in some area’s. :rotfl: hummmm :hmmm: (maybe she could)

Trying to make it look like you are pro-life and being pro-life are two different things.

I’d rather see a president randomly chosen from a phone book than see Hillary elected.

If she (or any candidate for that matter) can unite the party it would then fall to who the Republicans ran. If they countered with, say John McCain it’d be a tough race as McCain is a Republican may of us would vote for. I honetly don’t know if I would vote for Hillary over McCain. And I’m a staunch Democrat.

Sadly, I think she has a very good chance of winning. The American electorate does not keep up with things and will believe that she is a “middle of the road” Democrat. Is is anything but, judging by her past record. She borders on Socialism.

Most people have no idea what a candidate stands for, and also forget that an elected person can only go so far by him/herself. I tend to look at what the party thinks. Being raised in a good Irish Catholic family I am saddened to see that the Democrat Party has been taken over by it’s radical left. I think many of the party operatives would rather have someone other than Hillary as the are not thrilled with how the Clintons, instead of raising money for the party when Pres. Bill was in office, they raised it for themselves.

BUT, they will nominate who they think has the best chance to WIN, and although Hillary is a very polarizing figure (you either love her or hate her), I believe she will be that nominee.

That would by quite an accomplishment. I mean, President Clinton set the bar so high that a tea cup poodle could trip and clear it. :rotfl:
AMEN!!!

I love the thread starters with Senator Clinton’s name in them. I just know I will be in for a very long list of uncharitable diatribes.

No one has been uncharitable. Is it uncharitable to say that morally former President Clinton was sadly lacking? Is it uncharitable to say that you wouldn’t vote for Hilary? I don’t think so President Clinton has a problem with morality. I wouldn’t ever vote for Hilary Clinton because, in my opinion, she is a radical feminist who has no respect for human life.

IMO, morality consists of more than sexual morality. I’d vote for a good president even if he was sleeping with half the women in Washington. What business of mine is that? None. What business of mine is it that he is a good president? Plenty!

Keep in mind, Bush’s approval ratings – and the approval ratings of the Republican party in general – have been steadily dropping for his entire term thus far. We’re at the end of his first year and he’s already down to 35%, and every indication is that he’s only got further down to go.

By the time three years have passed, unless the Republican party completely divorces itself from Bush or Bush pulls out some kind of miraculous recovery, there’s a very good chance the Democrats could run a small, poorly housetrained Pomeranian and still win the election.

(Granted, a poorly housetrained Pomeranian would probably run a better election campaign than Gore or Kerry.)

I can’t agree about Gore. He did win the popular vote, and should have won the election.

But, I agree with you about Kerry. As a Dem, I voted for him, but saw that he was running a terrible election campaign. Bush out-campaigned him and so, won. I don’t deny him that coup.

Because, as we all know, even this were true, it’s the popular vote that decides who wins a presidential election.

Well, it’s a fact that Gore won the popular vote. You can check this on your own and needn’t take my word for it.

As for the latter, it seemed that it was the Supreme Court that decides who wins a presidential election.

Bush won 2004 quite fairly, thanks to his better campaigning. There’s no denying that.

Here’re the only votes that mattered in 2000: the electoral ones. 271 for George Bush. 266 for Al Gore. The Supreme Court had nothing to do with those numbers.

And, back on topic, one could go to the zoo and let loose a monkey from its cage. The first person that monkey pinched would have at least even odds of being a better president than Bill Clinton. When the bar is set very low, it’s easy for just about anyone to step over it.

Senator Clinton will not get the Democratic Party nomination, let alone win the White House.

Better go back and read the history of that election and the Supreme Court’s involvement in it. Sure, it’s water under the bridge now.

I’ve heard the same (and lots worse) said about the present occupant of the White House, but it may be no more true of the one man than of the other.

Very possibly true, but, nonethless, I’d sure like to see her as President.
