Occasionally I like a shot of espresso in my coffee to boost the octane rating!

Well, there are some places, like Alaska, where people like to put butter in their coffee. I have never tried it, though.

Must be a younger generation thing as I never encountered it during the 4 years my husband and I lived in Alaska from 1974 -78. I understand that the butter in coffee historically goes way back in other parts of the world but don’t think it caught on in our part until more recently. Personally I have never tried it. My father used to put a pinch of salt in the coffee grinds before brewing. He said it gave it a nutty flavor.

No butter for me, thank you, although nutritionally it’s about the same as cream, that is, it’s milkfat.

I’m bumping my coffee up from half-decaf to full-strength.
I’ve never understood the point of drinking decaf. I realize some people have a sensitivity to caffeine yet still love the taste…my problem is that decaf tastes ikky! As I age, I also appreciate the energy boost…I need all the help I can get. I’m not drinking coffee any more often that I used to, my cups are just a bit larger! :hugs:

I usually put milk or half and half but I’m mainly using oat milk for St. Philip’s Fast. I only use Sugar in the Raw or honey (credit my boss for that one). And one of my coworkers got me hooked on putting Dr. Axe’s Ancient Nutrition Multi Collagen Protein Vanilla in my coffee (only M, T & Thurs b/c it’s kind of expensive).

I’ve never understood the point of drinking decaf.
My physician seemed to be concerned about my coffee intake, so I have been drinking half-caf lately.

But I’m not sensitive to caffeine at all. I recently read that some people metabolize (break down) caffeine very quickly, and I think I might be one of those. I can drink a strong coffee and take a nap easily.

:coffee: 😴

Me, too. I don’t really drink a ton of coffee…just twice a day…but they are large mugs! If I’m having a slow morning, I’ve gotten up, drank my coffee, and then gone back to bed for another hour of sleep. I don’t sleep as deeply but I do doze off!
