Well that’s good to know. We can all rest easier knowing you weren’t drinking tea again! 😊

I think drinking coffee is an excellent way to reflect and pray for saints and sinners alike.

I had to check the date on that article. Not April 1, so I guess he’s serious.

Reminds me of a joke:
“Father, is it all right if I have a cup of coffee while I pray?”

“Absolutely not!”

“How about if I pray while I have a cup of coffee?”

“Of course that’s all right!”

@Margaret_Ann That is a helpful article on how to pray throughout the day. I have never used that particular Jesus prayer but my daily prayer life does incorporate short prayers of praise, petitions or penance. In Catholic school we were taught to say these as ejaculations and many had indulgences associated with them. This prayer habit may also come from my heritage since the Irish have prayers or songs about ordinary aspects of living such as seeing the new day’s sun, lighting the fire, baking bread or drinking a toast! I’ve been to a couple of retreats given by Carmel Boyle an Irish singer songwriter who explores Celtic Christian spirituality. She calls the Irish a God intoxicated people because of this. So I can see myself adding that Jesus prayer to my coffee consumption contemplation. Thanks for posting the site. :coffee:🙏

To honor you and the others, I am having coffee with breakfast tomorrow. Folger’s, French pressed. I’ll report back afterward.

I’m hyped up on coffee and I have the song Israelites by Desmond Dekker in my head.

Mmmm! Me too. This cartoon reminds me of what I would tell my grandkids when I visited. Nana’s brain doesn’t wake up until after I have my coffee. Then I can play, read or do a puzzle.
