Have I told him? Well, on Nov 22, '11, 8:15 am, you told US that he “hasn’t officially left the church”… and FYI… Catholics just don’t “officially” become uncatholic.

You’re about to marry this guy…and the very fact that you’re still active on this site leads one to believe that there’s a part of you that realizes that this whole “catholic” thing isn’t something that one sheds when one feels like it.

And for THAT… I commend you. You’re going to need all the knowlege you can get, and I will say a prayer that something will rub off on you and bring to to the fullness of the faith.

God bless you, I will pray for both you and your fiance.
Ok, well the church regards him as Catholic, but I’m going to listen to him. As for why I’m on here, its probably for the same reason that I’m active on Muslim, Mormon, Buddhist, and Pagan sites, as well as christiannymphos (before it shut down a few weeks ago). Education as well as entertainment. Several of my atheist friends are also on here, although they pose as Catholics.

I’m sorry, but presuming to know the religious feelings of strangers on the internet is just silly. For all you know I’m an 80 year old convict posting from prison just for a laugh.

Your posts have baffled me for weeks, and you just told me everything I need to know. Thank you and God bless!

Have a wonderful evening. (Or morning, depending on where you are.) If you’re ever interested in a respectful and honest discussion about me, my posts, philosophical differences, etc feel free to PM me. If you stop making assumptions you may be surprised at how much we actually have in common.

I actually have several very cool private discussions going on right now with a few members. Its been fun and I think we’ve all gained a bit of perspective.

I’m here to start no arguments. I have no doubts that we have much in common. As I stated in a previous post on this thread- I am certainly no angel. I was blessed with the gift of the holy ghost when I NEVER thought it would happen. I’d never go somewhere and contest ideas that sounded nuts to me. That’s why I’m not on muslim/mormon/nympho sites… I don’t believe what they do, so I stay away.

God bless

Interesting. Would you be able to articulate the reasons that they pose as catholics?

I ask because it is a troubling statement. It sounds like you are saying they come here, pretend to be catholics and give atheistic (name removed by moderator)ut in diguise.

Why the dishonesty?

  1. I absolutely disagree 100% with what they do, its dishonest and disrespectful. I have never and would never do it.
  2. The friends that do this do it on many religious sites. They post as conservative members of the faith, bait people in to saying “crazy” things, then link the thread to their Facebook, blog, or Reddit to demonstrate why religious people are cruel/crazy/evil/whatever.
  3. I WOULD NEVER do that. And I admit to being an atheist so that people are free to take what I say with a grain/shaker of salt.
  4. One of my friends doing that and linking it to thier Facebook is how I knew about this site.

“A city on a hill can not be hid…one does not put a lamp under a bushel basket.”

Let them bait conservative Catholics and post the truth that is contained in their responses, so that they and their friends may mock it as “out of sync with the zeigeist,” so that they may condemn and damn themselves to Hell, with hardened hearts overflowing with hatred of the Light, “and the darkness comprehended it not…the fool says in his heart, ‘there is no God.’”

PS Link this to any of those friends, so they may do just that.

Your integrity is appreciated. And I’ve noticed it in posts as well - thanks.

You might want to remind them that their tactics make them look far more foolish than the religious people they seek to mock. They may get Facebook rep credit for it, but somewhere deep inside don’t they wonder if it is worth giving up their own integrity in the process???

I truly don’t get that. But then I suppose we’ve always known that “trolls” exist…
