Coincidences as signs

H this is nonsense, be it thoughts about satan or God or tooth faeries arranging magnets.

Much in the world simply does not make sense because it is what it is…random and chance. We all look for meaning, more so when we feel lost or in distress. And when it is not there we get fanciful if we cannot endure.

Look for a Church where you feel accepted regardless of your sins or past mistakes. If coincidences point that way enjoy them. If not dont be disappointed. Dont get the cart before the horse.
Its a journey not a destination.
 
Our brains are good at finding patterns to make sense out of things. Like matrixing images. Seeing different things in cloud formations. A monster in a dark closet. A pattern within the things that happen in our daily lives can start to pop out and give us an imagined meaning that we mistake for something real.

Not all events that appear as coincidences are coincidences. In other words, not all the aforementioned are due to random chance.

Do you remember the movie, “A Beautiful Mind”?
 
The truth can be revealed through created objects, but a kid with fridge magnets? Really…

No bible Church, none - zip, zero, nada, can be the “original” Church. Why?

Jesus did not write the New Testament. He did not command the writing of anything. He did not establish any written document as sole rule. He did not teach that disputes are to be settle by the bible.

He taught and empowered Apostles, founded His Church on them, with Peter being chief, and they, through the laying on of hands, passed that authority on until time ends.

Jesus said that ‘the gates of hell will not prevail’ against His Church. That is set in stone. All bible churches claim that, in some way, Jesus was either wrong, or what He really meant was…

Sadly, they are forced to make things up, twisting scripture as they go.
 
@HN95, you obviously think that the Catholic Church is the one true Church of Jesus Christ, because you have studied history and the Bible and understand that it is. Why would you let some story told to you by a group that has every reason to want to keep people in their sect against all other reason (such as reading the Bible and studying history and learning things that are “very devastating for the sect”), keep you from the one true Church? Do you believe this sect’s published books are infallible the way the Bible is? Or is it just a book that they use to try to get people to join up and stay in, that can be dismissed as easily as any advertisement in daily life? If you see an advertisement for Pepsi, do you take that as a sign that Coca-Cola is no good even though you prefer it?

I don’t mean to make light of your dilemma here, because it’s obviously something you are struggling with, but this story you describe amounts to basically the Infinite Monkey Theorem, which says that if you put a monkey in front of a typewriter and it punches random keys, eventually it’ll write the complete works of Shakespeare, given enough time. There are a lot of illiterate little kids out there playing with a lot of fridge magnets. Eventually through pure blind chance, one of them will put some letters together that might be interpreted by somebody as something profound. Your standard here isn’t even the complete works of Shakespeare, just a single word. The odds of that happening are relatively quite high.
