Standing by the practice of blatant racial profiling, Mathies said “we had groups of people who were comparably aggressive,” to the men who had carried out the attacks last year. 309 out of 650 sounds like they were targeting the right guys.
 
Security services were under pressure to prevent a repeat of the sexual attacks that occurred last New Year’s Eve, when a group of 1,000 men of mostly North African and Middle Eastern origin unexpectedly descended on the square separating the Cologne’s famous gothic cathedral from its main train station and molested hundreds of women.

They did the right thing. If Europe is going to continue to harbor huge numbers of Muslims in their midst, they need to instill the fear of God in them so they know their uncivilized behavior will not be tolerated.

It’s interesting that you’re justifying racial profiling on the basis of Islam being violent. So much for Islam not being a race. :rolleyes:

Obviously the police had reasonable suspicion to go on and there guess work was pretty accurate since they took 309 probable trouble makers out of the area. I imagine they were looking for men who bore a resemblance to those who sexually assaulted women in Cologne last year. Not that hard to do. Political correctness shouldn’t stand in the way of crime prevention.

Practical, albeit imperfect, measures to counteract violence.

The German government let in far too many “refugees”, and now they’re facing the consequences they didn’t anticipate.

Either this or just sitting around doing nothing.

It’s not opposition to Islam. It’s opposition to violence perpetrated by those that follow Islam. If they were truly peaceful and grateful to the host country for allowing them in, measures like these wouldn’t be necessary.

that is how it should be but I suppose it is all up to the politicians and
what they want.
 
countries like Germany and Sweden are undergoin dramatic demographic changes, and this is leading to great increase in certain crimes, it is just undeniable
if these countries are to continue in a state of relative safety and peace, they can’t be scared about hurting feelings or being politically correct. The police are doing the right thing here

Yeah, but it’s an example of racial discrimination being encouraged supposedly on the basis of opposition purely to Islam, a hatred of what is supposedly merely “an ideology” culminating in actual racial discrimination. I think that is significant. Islam obviously has racial connotations, and I think this is an example of how “Islamophobia” fails to distance itself from race.

Islam is not a race. Those who associate Islam with Arabs ought to realize that many Arabs are considered and even ID as white and only 20% of Muslims are Arabs.

The Western far left has tried very hard to inject racism into everything just so they can call anyone who disagrees with them racist thereby ending the debate for all intensive purposes.

Islam is an ethnically diverse religion.

As far as profiling goes, it works as a baseline and these nations do have sovereign rights.

Had people behaved themselves last year, this would not be necessary.

I can call a dolphin a fish, but it’s not a fish.

The problem isn’t petty theft; it’s sexual assault and possible terrorist attack.

Clearly those racist German women should allow the Muslims to continue raping and assaulting them.

This represents the worst stereotypes of the secular left who bury their heads in the sand. No actual solution to the massive rapes and assaults coming from Muslims, but only criticism and name-calling of those who actually work to fix the problem.
