The priest has no right to tell you not to kneel.
But I would generally agree with other posters that you should try your best to defer to his requests. Perhaps you can find a compormise… ask him if he wouldn’t mind you wearing a plate-sized one (sorry I don’t know the proper term!) but pinned to the back of your head, and a similar color to your hair color. Perhaps he will agree if you kindly let him know how strongly you feel towards this devotion.
But the first time you receive the Eucharist… please try and talk to him and let him know how much you wish to kneel. As for the veil, it is no longer mandatory, ie sinful not to wear it, so have no scruples about this one, just veil in the future (I veil, and have to keep this in mind when I happen upon a church and want to go in and pray, but forgot my veil. If I am alone, I will use my handkercheif but otherwise just pull my hair up)
