The priest has no right to tell you not to kneel. But I would generally agree with other posters that you should try your best to defer to his requests. Perhaps you can find a compormise… ask him if he wouldn’t mind you wearing a plate-sized one (sorry I don’t know the proper term!) but pinned to the back of your head, and a similar color to your hair color. Perhaps he will agree if you kindly let him know how strongly you feel towards this devotion.

But the first time you receive the Eucharist… please try and talk to him and let him know how much you wish to kneel. As for the veil, it is no longer mandatory, ie sinful not to wear it, so have no scruples about this one, just veil in the future (I veil, and have to keep this in mind when I happen upon a church and want to go in and pray, but forgot my veil. If I am alone, I will use my handkercheif but otherwise just pull my hair up)

He requested that I remove my veil when I approach the alter for the sacraments, but I can put if back on after the fact. I think I will do this. I’m not to happy with it but… It’s not my home parish and it is for just the one day.

As for communion… I will be kneeling. : )

I’m excited. The first Sunday of next month my boyfriend found a church that still has a Tridentine Mass. He misses the latin and I’ve never been to one. I have some thing to look forward to.

Great to hear lizds!

What saint did you pick?
re: Latin Mass, be sure it is one of the approved, there are a number of wacky groups out there.

Get a missal if you can, it will really make a difference to the experience.

God bless!🙂

We did make sure the parish was approved. My boyfriend had found him self at a SSPX Latin Mass once… :\ It was consided legit, but the priest was a little… off.

As for my comfirmation saint I picked St. Augustine of Hippo. It was quite a surprise when I learned I would recieve the sacraments on his feast day. 🙂 I guess it’s a sign the Augustine was a good choice.
