Revelation 7:27:

For the Lamb,… shall rule them, and shall lead them to the fountains of the waters of life and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes

9:20:
And the rest of the men, who were not slain by these plagues, did not do penance from the works of their hands, that they should not adore devils and idols of gold and silver and brass and stone, and wood, which neither can see, nor hear nor walk [as human life does…].

11:18
: And the nations were angry and Thy wrath is come and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that Thou shouldest render reward to Thy servants the prophets and the saints, and to them that fear Thy name, little and great, and shouldest destroy them who have corrupted the earth.

**13:8: **And all that dwell upon the earth adored [the beast], whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb, which was slain…

16:14: For they are the spirits of devils working signs and they go forth unto the kings of the whole earth, to gather them to battle against the great day of the Amighty God.

St. Luke 6:25: Woe to you when men shall bless you: for according to those things did their fathers to the false prophets.

25: woe to you that now laugh for you shall mourn and weep…

I didn’t vote for McCain. I voted for the woman running with him.

yeah… i liked her a lot… She would have been a great president… (in case McCain didn’t finish his term…).

Anyway… i was surprised… but not when i thought about it… because this country has gone to Hell… morally…

Money rules over life… 😦

(not that Obama would be good for this country $-wise… he -wont - but even McCain people said the most important issue was the economy… :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Well, what is it that they say about sowing the wind? How about laying down with dogs? Or playing with fire?

Hmmm… would rather have fleas…

fleas i can deal with, … :rolleyes:

well… this makes me think all over again that… something isn’t right…

I mean… there are more Christians in this country than some care to admit… so why didn’t we get a Christian president??

Catholics are often not very Catholic… (christian) and i guess some Protestants are… maybe too busy trying to convert Catholics or something…

I am just being honest… not speaking of you in particular cause don’t know you. but in any case, we all need to tell others all the time and in eveyr situation about Jesus…

Then maybe we would get a Christian president… or at least one who is not socialist… (neo-communist)… :eek:

Frankly, i smell a rat… I think there was corruption in the voting procedure… :rolleyes:

Because a Christian President would make too much sense! Duh! (just kidding) I agree with the basic idea you have put forth. We Chrisitans should ALL stop our crazy ways (sin, bickering, gossiping, trying to convert the other etc) and get back to the basics. It strikes me as odd that Obama says he is a Christian, but his mentors and his policies are all socialist. In socialism isn’t religion (i.e, God) just an opiate for the masses? Someone should clue him in that oil and water don’t mix.

**Jesus said, “My kingdom is NOT of this world.”

And David sang, "Put not your trust in princes [and by extension, political parties and politicians], in children of mankind, in whom is NO salvation.

The faith is NOT tied to a party, and it’s dangerous to think so.**

Nobody said it was. Faith should inform your politics, and, I am sorry, but people who say they are Christians while at the same time approve of abortion need to have their head examined. That happens on both sides of the aisle. I don’t care what party you are in. I want someone of character and substance who seeks Chirst. I think Palin is like that. If Heath Shuler from North Carolina (a congressman) ran for President I might vote for him because his social values are pretty much right on target BECAUSE his faith influences his politics, and he will tell you that.

a person would ahve to schizoid to pretend to believe one wway while in office doing his job and another when at “chruch”…

That kind of thing is from the devil… purre and simple… It is just taking the easy way… the wide way that Jesus speaks of in the Gospels… Nobody wants to sacrifice anything anymore… Sacrifice is thought to be a 4-letter word… Everyone seems to “want to have it all”… Of course, there is nothing wrong with that except that no one CAN have it all… and to seek to have it all in this life is to forfeit life with God in the next… As Jesus said, You cannot serve God and mammon…

Not much to laugh about lately, so I really appreciated this. Thanks 😛

More scriptural comfort (Psalm 37):

" 1 Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.

3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.

9 For evil men will be cut off,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.

10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.

11 But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy great peace.

12 The wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;

13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.

14 The wicked draw the sword
and bend the bow
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose ways are upright.

15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts,
and their bows will be broken.

16 Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;

17 for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the LORD upholds the righteous.

18 The days of the blameless are known to the LORD,
and their inheritance will endure forever.

19 In times of disaster they will not wither;
in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.

20 But the wicked will perish:
The LORD’s enemies will be like the beauty of the fields,
they will vanish—vanish like smoke.

21 The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously;

22 those the LORD blesses will inherit the land,
but those he curses will be cut off.

23 If the LORD delights in a man’s way,
he makes his steps firm;

24 though he stumble, he will not fall,
for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

25 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.

26 They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be blessed.

27 Turn from evil and do good;
then you will dwell in the land forever.

28 For the LORD loves the just
and will not forsake his faithful ones.
They will be protected forever,
but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;

29 the righteous will inherit the land
and dwell in it forever.

30 The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom,
and his tongue speaks what is just.

31 The law of his God is in his heart;
his feet do not slip.

32 The wicked lie in wait for the righteous,
seeking their very lives;

33 but the LORD will not leave them in their power
or let them be condemned when brought to trial.

34 Wait for the LORD
and keep his way.
He will exalt you to inherit the land;
when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.

35 I have seen a wicked and ruthless man
flourishing like a green tree in its native soil,

36 but he soon passed away and was no more;
though I looked for him, he could not be found.

37 Consider the blameless, observe the upright;
there is a future for the man of peace.

38 But all sinners will be destroyed;
the future of the wicked will be cut off.

39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

40 The LORD helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him."

“If any man would come after me, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF and take up his cross daily and follow me” Lk 9:23.

True “Change” comes not from a short term victory, but most often from the painful lessons learned as a result of defeat.

I am truly encouraged to hear numerous Catholics, including many Church leaders, stand up for the Truth and especially for the primordial issue; the protection of life!

Jesus did not shy away from confrontation, he did not compromise, he did not try to appease those who disagreed with Him.

He died on the Cross for our sins and rose in glory 3 days later.

It just goes to show that when you try to moderate, to appease, to be everyone’s friend, you actually water down your message and eventually betray their friendship.

If your 3 year old wants to run across a busy street to get ice cream do you let him?

If you truly love your brothers and sisters, you will stand firm in Jesus’ Truth, no matter how unpopular you become.

We have been bullied into silence and fear for our own selfish standing in the community and even in our own families in the name of tolerance.

This is a battle, we must put on our armor and stand up for what is right.

“Take your share of suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus” 2Tim 2:3.

There have already been over 48 million abortions in the US since Roe v. Wade.

48 MILLION INNOCENT BABIES “LEGALLY” MURDERED BY THEIR OWN MOTHERS AND FATHERS!!

No other issue, not all of the other issues combined,
not war, not hunger, not social injustice, none will matter at all if we will not defend innocent life. This is and has always been the teaching of the Catholic Church.

Our own family, friends and parishioners say, “I am pro-life, but I have no right to impose my beliefs and morals on others”.

Again, we are bullied and brainwashed by the secular society’s constant propaganda, that if we stand up for the Truth, we are mean, closed minded, bigoted, hateful, intolerant, racist…

We are called not to impose our beliefs on anyone, but to stand up fearlessly and tirelessly for the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God has give us all free will and many people who saw Jesus himself did not believe.

After his teaching on the Eucharist, even many of Jesus’ disciples left him.

“After this many of his disciples drew back and no longer walked with him.” Jn 6:66

We can force no one to believe what we believe, but we must preach and live the Gospel in all love and humility.

If we all rededicate ourselves to this cause, the cause of our Lord Jesus Christ, no matter what the cost to us personally, then we have done our part and the rest is in God’s hands.

I pray for God’s grace so that when my final day on earth comes I can say “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH.” 2 Tim 4:6.

You are all in my prayers.

Mark

If Catholic’s united we could change this country and the world. Yet we don’t. Abortion in the US exists because Catholic’s vote for it. Just as we did in this election.

I have never been so disappointed in my country as I was for this election. How could anyone vote for murder?

thank you so much for this… I needed it far more than i realized… 🙂

and i think all us “true Americans” who love truth (and McCain / Palin) needed it… :heaven: :harp:

Because a Christian President would make too much sense!

**In 1976, people voted for Jimmy Carter primarily because he was the “born-again Christian candidate” (though Watergate was still leaving a bitter after-taste).

And in 2000 and 2004, George Bush fils boasted about his being a Christian, cynically manipulated the feelings of pop-evangelicals…and look at the mess he made.**

because everyone has gotten to the point of not thinking abortion is a big deal… they don’t look at it as murder, probably, because, well, it’s legal, so it must be right… It’s right so it can’t be murder… (pro-lifers are just exaggerating about that to push their agenda…:rolleyes: )

I have now shifted my focus from the charity i was contributing to… to pro-life work instead… I just don’t know exactly the best way to contribute… I mean… I am still praying about how best to spend my $ and time… to fight this atrocity… This election has changed me…
