Then we have all other aspects of Love that lead us to One God, Building the Taj Mahal for Love of a wife is one of those Loves, to Inscribe it with Quotes from the Religion you Love is another ;).

Regards Tony
If the Taj Mahal a tomb for a dead mans wife is a display of love in islam. Whats to be said about St.Peters Basilica and the beauty it displays inside and out?

Has Allah performed the greatest act of love? The answer is no. Allah has not sacrificed himself at all. Allah has not died for another. Allah has not loved us to the point of death. In Christianity, Jesus, who is God in flesh (John 1:1, 14), laid His life down for us. Jesus performed the greatest act of love.

I have found nowhere in the Qur’an where it says that Allah is love. The Qur’an says that Allah loves people, but it never says that Allah is love. By contrast, the Bible clearly tells us that God is love. " We have recognised for ourselves, and put our faith in, the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him." 1 John 4:16.

Is it just all one big competition?

It’s so disheartening and saddening to read this post 😦

.

Ok but that whole post is confusing in itself. Especially:

Any Islamic link to what you mean about this Love that is A Covenant? Because the commandments by Jesus spoke already about the New Covenant in His Blood. Which we follow today and have daily reflection on it.

Just some thoughts.

God bless

An exerpt:
It was about this time [after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah] that the Prophet granted to the monks of the Monastery of St. Catherine, near Mount Sinai, his liberal charter by which they secured for the Christians noble and generous privileges and immunities. He undertook himself and enjoined his followers, to protect the Christians, to defend their churches and the residences of their priests and to guard them from all injuries. They were not to be unfairly taxed; no bishop was to be driven out of his diocese; nor Christian was to be forced to reject his religion; no monk was to be expelled from his Monastery; no pilgrim was to be stopped from his pilgrimage; nor were the Christian churches to be pulled down for the sake of building mosques or houses for the Muslims. Christian women married to Muslims were to enjoy their own religion and not to be subjected to compulsion or annoyance of any kind. If the Christians should stand in need of assistance for the repair of their churches or monasteries, or any other mater pertaining to their religion, the Muslims were to assist them. This was not to be considered as supporting their religion, but as simply rendering them assistance in special circumstances. Should the Muslims be engaged in hostilities with outside Christians, no Christian resident among the Muslims should be treated with contempt on account of his creed. The Prophet declared that any Muslim violating any clause of the charter should be regarded as a transgressor of Allah’s commandments, a violator of His testament and neglectful of His faith

This doesn’t make sense for a document like this to exist because didn’t Mohammad die before Muslim advances into the Sinai peninsula (where the church is located)?

Muhammad is supposed to have died in 632 the Muslims conquered Egypt between 639 and 641

From the Sinai a Monastery website…

Mohammed and the Holy Monastery of Sinai

According to the tradition preserved at Sinai, Mohammed both knew and visited the monastery and the Sinai fathers. The Koran makes mention of the Sinai holy sites. In the second year of the Hegira, corresponding to AD 626, a delegation from Sinai requested a letter of protection from Mohammed. This was granted, and authorized by him when he placed his hand upon the document. In AD 1517, Sultan Selim I confirmed the monastery’s prerogatives, but took the original letter of protection for safekeeping to the royal treasury in Constantinople. At the same time, he gave the monastery certified copies of this document, each depicting the hand print of Mohammed in token of his having touched the original.

“There is also the superstition of the Ishmaelites which to this day prevails and keeps people in error, being a forerunner of the Antichrist…. From that time to the present a false prophet named Mohammed has appeared in their midst. This man, after having chanced upon the Old and New Testaments and likewise, it seems, having conversed with an Arian monk, devised his own heresy. Then, having insinuated himself into the good graces of the people by a show of seeming piety, he gave out that a certain book had been sent down to him from heaven. He had set down some ridiculous compositions in this book of his and he gave it to them as an object of veneration.”

He seduced the people by promises of carnal pleasure to which the concupiscence of the flesh goads us. As for proofs of the truth of his doctrine, he brought forward only such as could be grasped by the natural ability of anyone with a very modest wisdom. Indeed, the truths that he taught he mingled with many fables and with doctrines of the greatest falsity. He did not bring forth any signs produced in a supernatural way, which alone fittingly gives witness to divine inspiration; for a visible action that can be only divine reveals an invisibly inspired teacher of truth. The hatred is clear.

There was a reason Muhammad was sent to the world at the time He was sent.

The conviction that they “owned” Truth is the cause of this hatred.
Today, Pope Benedict says that Catholics should be more humble.

A Saint today, would never utter some of the words quoted above. A poor example of Jesus example of what love is.

Dear Joey,

One of the greatest and overwhelming indisputable and conclusive proofs Islam is a religion of love is that it teaches man to love God. And so far it’s 1.6 billion but counting former generations you’re talking massive numbers became God’s lover.

Materially, Islam, as every Faith, had a ‘Golden Age’ where it showered its loving blessings upon all humanity. The blessing of chemistry, physics, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, algebra. Centres of learning. Universities with a degree first came through Islam and later copied by the west. The oldest universities are Islamic.

So much learning and so many blessings were showered upon humanity and especially the west that had declined into a dark age but due a lot to Islamic learning revived Europe and the west.

Yes we can sit back and watch CNN or pick up the latest newspaper and read about the newest terrorist attack and be overcome with hate for anything Islamic but what percentage are these of the 1.6 billion? I tried to get a percentage but the calculator couldn’t give me one even I estimated around 100,000 active terrorists which is false.

What about the 1.6 billion wonderful, hospitable, kind, generous, LOVING and welcoming Muslims who are good, upright virtuous and LOVING people because of the Quran and Muhammad??

Islam has brought massive love to humanity in both spiritual and material form. But alas. I assume your nose has a cold and cannot inhale the beautiful perfume of Arabian love and the glasses you wear may be tinted a slight black and cannot see all the beautiful colours of the delightful Middle Easterners warmth & hospitality.

I’m honoured and even unworthy to type the Name Muhammad for all He sacrificed for humanity.

PS: How do you make letters red?

Its not hatred. I explained to you catholics do not believe in muhammad and never will accept him as a prophet. We have been warned of false prophets in the bible.

I think that is pretty clear cut.

Did Mohammed believe:

That Jesus, Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.8 And being found in appearance as a man, ** he humbled himself ** by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

9
**Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,**10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Pope Benedict would attest to the above verses And he’ll still be humble claiming this. Nothing superior nor competition about proclaiming this eternal Truth.

Firstly, this thread is about proving that Islam is a religion of love and I’ve already proved that a dozen times over but here’s another one. We have about 360 countries in the world that would not have existed if not for Islam. Where was the mighty USA when Islam established the first Ummah or nation? Everybody copied and adjusted Islamic nationhood to their own cultures. Humanity owes an enormous debt to Islam.

Do you love your country? I love mine and I also love other countries.

Thanks to the outpouring of love from God through the Muhammaden Revelation, wild tribes were transformed into nations with laws. A benchmark for future societies.

Th establishment of the Ummah or nation by Muhammad began the process of nation building around the world. Countries like America or Australia hadn’t been discovered yet and already nation building had begun with the Muslims.

The gift of nationhood came from Muhammad. He gave you your country. Wherever you are. Of course Islam is a religion of love.

The Faith of Islám, the succeeding link in the chain of Divine Revelation, introduced … the conception of the nation as a unit and a vital stage in the organization of human society, and embodied it in its teaching.

This indeed is what is meant by this brief yet highly significant and illumination pronouncement of Bahá’u’lláh: ‘Of old [Islamic Dispensation] it hath been revealed: “Love of one’s country is an element of the Faith of God. ” ’ This principle was established and stressed by the Apostle of God, inasmuch as the evolution of human society required it at that time. Nor could any stage above and beyond it have been envisioned, as world conditions preliminary to the establishment of a superior form of organization were as yet unobtainable.

The conception of nationality, the attainment to the state of nationhood, may, therefore, be said to be the distinguishing characteristics of the Muhammadan Dispensation, in the course of which the nations and races of the world, and particularly in Europe and America, were unified and achieved political independence. Did Mohammed accept that God Loved the world so much, have gave his Only Son? Christians do wholeheartedly. Christianity teaches love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Did Mohammed know this? Link?

How about 2 Corinthians 10:1-6? :

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 **We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. **

Hi Martin,

As we believe Muhammad was a Manifestation of God His Knowledge came from God not Himself so all that He knew was pure truth and infallible. He was sent by God with a specific mission.

He knew the exact truth about Christ and Christianity as revealed to Him by God and recorded in the Quran. He was fully aware of all their teachings and practices and knew what was true and what was misunderstood and that is revealed in the Quran.

So He had up to date information from God. Now, God does not compete with Himself. The Prophets or Messengers or Manifestations He sends are to take us a level higher spiritually and advance our civilisations.

It was at the Council of Nicea in 325 AD that the Divinity of Christ and many conceptions formed from that time.

Muhammad clarified the verse you quote John 3:16 and said that God had no physical son and it was a man made doctrine like the trinity. Now Muhammad doesn’t say that the title is wrong ‘spiritually’ only physically so even we Baha’is believe that Christ’s spiritual station was the Son of God but do not accept the ‘interpretation’ that God beget a physical son as God is Spirit. It was Christ’s Spriit that was the Son of God not His Body. You with me??

That’s the only real difference and it’s as large or as minor as one wishes it to be. I love Christ to death no matter what.

John 4:24

God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth."

The Quran fully supports John 4:24 but says some other verses are misinterpretations. The Bible has NOT been corrupted only the ‘meanings’ have. By corruption mentioned in the Quran is meant meanings and interpretations not the actual physical effacement of the words.

Here are some passages from the Quran. Remember though it’s the physical claim that is disputed not the spiritual station of Christ.

“Say: He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him. (The Noble Quran, 112:1-4)”

Such was Jesus, the son of Mary. That is the whole truth, which they still doubt. God forbid that He Himself should beget a son! When He decrees a thing He need only say: ‘Be,’ and it is. Qur’an 19:35

Martin,

As I mentioned, Muhammad’s mission was entirely different to that of Christ’s. He came to abolish pagan worship, establish freedom of religion and establish nationhood so His teachings revolved around Ummah 'nation building) and things like laws and justice and constitutions to prepare mankind to move up from tribalism to nationalism.

So you will find that a lot of His Teachings in the Quran don’t revolve around love as that was not His purpose. Christ has already taught us all about how to love so there was no need for duplicity. So concepts like freedom of worship and self defense were taught by Muhammad. Can you begin to see a complimentary picture arise between the Manifestations how they each teach something different so we can learn more? They are complimentary.

We need love right! But don’t we need self defense and justice too? And laws and a constitution?

So expect that the Quran doesn’t say much about love as the world already has the Bible for things like love.

Right, that’s how I knew you were a Baha’i because Muhammad cant be wrong if Muhammad was wrong that would mean Bahaism is wrong, and that’s why you all defend Muhammad so much.
