You should come to the Mass Servant. Follow the Liturgy when we come together to pray and use the verses at the appropriate time. Much better than claiming verses out of the blue. It will only be exercise of subjectivity. No value.

Thank you dear Martin, that’s a kind (I think) invitation. 🙂

I’ve been to many a mass and observed and prayed with reverence to the Divinity behind the Christ. We took my Catholic brother in law to mass when he arrived in Australia recently.

Still, we are not in a Mass here, and neither were the Church Fathers when they quoted one verse at a time to elaborate on a theme 🙂

I will pray for fairmindedness 🙂

“And other sheep I have, that are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd”

One would think that since there are sheep which need to be gathered from other “folds” we would not assume an air of superiority…

2000 years and still no one fold, and no one shepherd.

One would think that a humble, less patronising approach might be considered.

I guess we can’t expect too much after 2000 years. Many have become disenchanted by this “our love is the best love” approach… even God Himself…

Maybe because those other “folds” are “disguised as sheep but underneath are ravenous wolves”

If you’ve been to the Mass and remark here that Church fathers quoting one verse has nothing to do with it, shows, and with all charity, I say, you are ignorant what the Mass is.

It also shows that he couldn’t follow Scripture and how it all tied together in Mass

Name me one other fold that Christians don’t call ravenous wolves?

Just one please…

Please teach me 🙂

What am I missing exactly ?

Are we not all brothers in Christ?
You call your brothers in Christ ravenous wolves???

Wowsers!

When you say "Maybe because those other “folds” are “disguised as sheep but underneath are ravenous wolves”, who exactly are you referring to?

Servant, Do you not comprehend my comment?

60:7 It may be that Allah will grant love (and friendship) [mawadda] between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For Allah has power (over all things); and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful

3:103 And hold fast, all together, by the Rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah’s favor on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the Pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.

5:57 O ye who believe! If any from among you turn back from his Faith, soon will Allah produce a people whom He will love [hubb] as they will love [hubb] Him, – Lowly with the Believers, Mighty against the Rejecters, Fighting in the Way of Allah, and never afraid of the reproaches of such as find fault. That is the Grace of Allah, which He will bestow on whom He pleaseth. And Allah encompasseth all, and He knoweth all things.

Please friends.
Be brave
Consider using Google to search the Quran

🙂

.
I can see that the word ‘love’ is included in those verses. I could just google those word and come up with the verses in the Quran.

But I do not see any teaching on love in those verses or perhaps I do not understand them. Can you explain to me what these verses actually mean or what they teach. Explain to me like you are explaining to a person who do not know what the verses mean.😉

Thanks.

Better still if any Muslims can explain to me.

EDIT: I could also google the word ‘love’ from the Bible, and there are probably hundreds of verses contain such word. That would not mean anything if they do not teach about the subject itself.

I was asking what does Islam teach about love. So what is its teaching on love?😃

Those who became Muslims in those days yearned for love and peace. They were so sad and filled with unhappiness that just because they believed in one God that their fellow Meccans started persecuting them and were very sorrowful.

They were reminded that just as they had been once strangers and made loving brothers so too God had the power to make enemies good friends and not to be disconsolate but have trust and faith.

As it turned out beyond what they ever would have imagined now there are over 1.5 billion Muslims.

They would have longed to see the golden age of Islam when Islam transformed Europe with its learning in sciences, arts and medicine.

Today they would be sad once again that Islam has declined and those who bear its name are undoing all their sacrifices but on the horizon they see the fruit of the Quran and their mission which was the appearance of …

Sorry if this is unacceptable. Just an effort at simplifying some of it a bit.

So, why didn’t they follow Christians who also believed also in one God? Christians were persecuted and killed for their beliefs, yet, were joyful because they knew the Truth. For if God is with us, who can be against us? Eternal life was promised to those how have Faith in the Son of God.

It is your personal opinion and yes you are oversimplifying it, not just a bit.

In a matter of just a few years after Muhammad’s death, Islamic empire had spread over almost all the known world then. Any Muslims, unless they were pretty stupid which I do not believe they were, would more or less know that their number, judging by the area that they had won for themselves, would have expected their numbers to reach the 1.6 billion that they are today. It was no rocket science to know that.

Well the question still stands Jimmy.

Which “other folds” is Jesus referring to?
And how are we to get to bring just “one fold”?

.
If you followed Christ and followed Scripture…you’d know

If you followed Christ and followed Scripture…you’d know
Well I do worship Christ, not just follow Him.

I guess your refusal to answer is either uncharitable or you don’t know 🙂

Either way, it’s all ok with me 🙂
