Communion for non-Catholics in the Catholic church

I don’t even know if tweetymom professes to be a Cathecist. If she does teach in her parish then apparently her priest doesn’t have a problem with her. Perhaps she teaches what he asks of her if she is a cathecist there. I just gather she attends a Catholic Church and if she was baptized and received into the Church then she can be Catholic. I think she posted on this thread about her Communion. And this is a forum where a Catholic can post. That’s really all I meant.

*You’re always going to have differing views. You could ask 10 priests 1 question and get 10 different answers. I’ve done it before. So it’s not just other denominations who disagree. We, within the Catholic Church, disagree as well.

That’s exactly why a PERSONAL relationship with Christ (one on one - you and Him) is so important. Then you won’t obsess over who is right and who is wrong, this rule and that rule, this interpretation and that one, etc. etc. etc. You will focus on HIM and Him alone and living how He wants you to live to find peace on earth and paradise for eternity. It’s that simple! *

I have to say,Catholics do have a personal relation ship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . How much more closer can we be in this life with him than when we receive him Body, Blood ,Soul and Divinity in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Our belief in the Sacrament is the very center of our Christian worship, we live and breathe in him.

I often hear said, it is all about Jesus and me and of course all Christians love him on a personal basis, However the full Truth is that we are not alone with Jesus but are in full communion in him with his whole Body his Bride the Church and with the communion of Saints in heaven and especially the Holy Trinity. Father we pray for the light of all your Truth to shine on this world.God bless us . Carlan

I really do not feel anything about you except that Jesus Church is built on Peter’s faith. Jesus is the rock. Youi can put all the scriptures you want to and I know them as well as you, but they do not meane Peter was the head nor the Pope the head… And if you want to argue about it you will be arguing with yourself, because I do not believe what you have chosen to believe. I read the same scriptures you do but cannot agree. No where in the Bible does it say CATHOLIC.

Jesus is giving Simon bar Jonah a new name - “Rock.” Then he says, in the same sentence, “And upon this Rock I will build my Church.” Without pausing, He then says, “What you bind on earth is bound in Heaven.” This is the source of Peter’s authority, which he exercises throughout the Book of Acts. For example, when he found Ananias and Sapphira guilty of defrauding the Church, it was God who judged and condemned them - they fell dead right where they stood.

Thank you but once again I will tell you I have read and studied the scripture many, many times, and it does not mean that to me.

It has an objective (literal) meaning, as well as a meaning “to you” or “to me.” (anagogical meaning)

I am not speaking here about what God may be saying to you personally through this passage, but rather, the actual meaning of the words as taken in the order in which they are written.

When we look at what is plainly written, we see Jesus giving Simon a new name (Rock) and telling Rock that He is building His Church on Rock (the person who has just been named Rock, which is himself) and that whatever he (Rock) binds on earth is bound in Heaven.

The Catholic Church is the mind of Christ, so unless Christ doesn’t know what He Himself is thinking, it is impossible for Him to disagree with the Catholic Church (Himself).

God answers the prayers of Hindus, Buddhists, and Wiccans, too. That doesn’t mean that their beliefs are “true” or even “okay.” It just means that God loves everybody.

Jesus already promised that this is impossible. Just keep reading from the verses I gave you earlier - it’s all in the same paragraph.

You know, I’m a cradle Catholic, been through the ‘rebellious’ times, been through the ‘questioning’ times, been through a lot of ‘secular’ type things that have been hard on the faith, etc., now at 53 seeing with gladness that a lot of the good once ‘lost’ is being restored and that the good (yes, there has been some) of the ‘new’ is being retained.

This is just my opinion but I simply cannot understand how any person can stubbornly insist on being a part of a group (any group) whose teachings that person does not believe in.

It’s like demanding to be called, and considered, a vegan while insisting that eating meat is wonderful, and that those who abstain from meat are totally and egregiously wrong–and claiming that obviously since you’re a vegan your point of view is the correct one, and that anyone saying that he/she is a vegan and vegans do not consume meat is **wrong.

**I mean, if you start out as a vegan (people have), decide that hey, you really prefer eating meat, what on earth is the matter with saying, “I was a vegan once but I decided I don’t believe as they do. I like meat and I’ll eat it. I’m no longer a vegan.”

Can you imagine though standing there and saying, “I was a vegan starting in 1980. I think it is perfectly fine to eat meat. And how dare you tell me I’m not following vegan beliefs! Didn’t I just finish telling you I’ve been a vegan all these years? Don’t you think I know what a vegan is? I AM a vegan and I will always BE a vegan and I insist that you call me a vegan and now I’m going off to eat a 16 ounce rare steak because as a vegan that is what I am entitled and called to do.”

All the while he was talking, he was swigging from a bottle in a paper bag and getting drunker and drunker and drunker, all while continuing to insist that he was perfectly sober. Eventually, we just had to throw him out - he never did admit that he was drinking, even though he was doing it right in front of everyone - he really thought that saying so, made it so.
