Well, “please please please please please please please please please please PLEEEEEEASE” don’t post on a Catholic Forum that you are Catholic if you are notOh no please please please please please please please please please please PLEEEEEEASE lets not open up that can of worms again and start debating who is and who is not a Catholic. I know some of you don’t like others calling themselves Catholic. And I do find that a bit odd considering you are usually the same ones who are so set on agreeing with everything else the Church says but then you have a problem with the Church’s definition of Catholic.
But pleeeeeease lets not start that again.

Hunh?I am a Catholic who doesnot agree with all. I believe Jesus is THE product of the Bible.
I would correct what I wrote: I believe (and intended) to say at AND in. That is also what my tradition/communion believes as well.I found your comment interesting. You state that "Christ is really present AT the Eucharist. Not sure if that is a subtlety that you meant or if it is just the way it is worded. If Christ is present AT the Eucharist rather than IN the Eucharist this would constitute a difference in what the “real presence” means to us. To be present AT the Eucharist would not be much diffrerent than being present “were two or more are gathered”. To be present IN the Eucharist is completely different and those that do not believe in the Catholic understanding that the Eucharist is the body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ should not receive; nor should they want to receive. If we are wrong, we are guilty of idolatry. Those who believe we are wrong would then be participating in idolatry.
I believe the liturgy says, “Take this, all of you, and eat it. This is my body…”How do you ‘know’ that Scripture said that the Eucharist was to be offered to ‘all?’ Even Scripture in recording the words of Jesus do not say that the Eucharist is offered ‘for all’. For many, not 'for all.
Well, “please please please please please please please please please please PLEEEEEEASE” don’t post on a Catholic Forum that you are Catholic if you are not
When you post that you are “Catholic” on here, that means a certain thing.
Sure, in other circles, you may consider yourself Catholic… but that’s posted there are things that one can assume. So, if a person states they are married, you assume they have another person in their life!![]()
Jesus does not refuse anyone who wants to become a member of His Church, but He still expects us to become members of His Church before we partake of His Body and Blood in Holy Eucharist. The people at the wedding banquet had to come in through the front door; they weren’t allowed to sneak in through the windows.I think you do get it.
WWJD? This is getting old and we’re going in circles. But Jesus tells us as clear as can be in Jn 6:37.
“Everyone whom my Father gives me will come to me. **I will never turn away anyone **who comes to me”
I am accused of cherry picking but those are Jesus’ words as to WWJD. Just seems so clear to me I don’t know why we are even debating this point.![]()
All the Disciples. Not all the people in the whole street.I believe the liturgy says, “Take this, all of you, and eat it. This is my body…”
Then Jesus cannot be “a product of” the Bible. Rather, the Bible is a product of the Church that Jesus established.Huh? Jesus of course, and He is whom my faith is built on.
Actually, St Paul’s words, ALL of what he said, about receiving UNWORTHILY, were exampled by Judas.I think I misspoke earlier, and I didn’t get a chance to make the correction.
Judas may have participated in the Eucharist (May have, it is not 100% certain). Of course, as I said, people CAN participate in the Eucharist unworthily or not in a state of grace. What Judas did not participate in (as he had ‘gone out’) was in the commission, so to speak, of the Eleven, which Jesus gave to them afterward.
Matt, this is a Catholic answers forum with possibly thousands reading us and when Catholic dissenters visit and express disagreement with the Church’s teaching authority, we who are faithful to that authority are bound in conscience to defend her. We are not saying you are no longer Catholic, we know well the old saying ‘once a Catholic always a Catholic’Oh no please please please please please please please please please please PLEEEEEEASE lets not open up that can of worms again and start debating who is and who is not a Catholic. I know some of you don’t like others calling themselves Catholic. I’ve been away for a couple days so I’m just catching up but . . .Tweety,
What church and in what city are you an RCIA instructor?
As mentioned earlier, Judas (who later betrayed him) was served. So was Peter - who later denied knowing Jesus. Judas met his fate. Peter rose to lead the Church. All the Disciples. Not all the people in the whole street.
.I’m very inclusive though I will confess
Amen to that and thank you.I’ve been away for a couple days so I’m just catching up but . . .
Perhaps Tweetymom wouldn’t say her city and parish because it’s unsafe to reveal specific identifiable information on a public forum. That’s common knowledge and falls under internet safety. I’m sure it has nothing to do with her performance.
Jn 1:1 In the beginning the Word already existed; the Word was with God, and the Word was God.Then Jesus cannot be “a product of” the Bible. Rather, the Bible is a product of the Church that Jesus established.![]()
I’m just asking because I’m not sure. Has the Church said who for certain is in hell?Actually, St Paul’s words, ALL of what he said, about receiving UNWORTHILY, were exampled by Judas.
For whatever ‘other’ reason or reasons dissenters of the Catholic position may advance as an ‘excuse’ to be entitled to Holy Communion by vurture of being Christian, Judas was an Apostle!
But as St Paul warns for all of us who follow, people forget that Judas expired shortly after partaking unworthily! Being an Apostle who followed Our Lord, DIDN’T save him.
Celtic Catholic, thank you. I’m human though so sometimes I fail. But I try. Then you’re very Christ-like and that’s our goal as Christians.![]()
I do believe the Holy Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is all the more reason to share Communion! If I thought the Holy Eucharist were merely a symbol, why would I be so concerned?Well, My dear sister in Christ you as a Catholic Christian are confusing to me, very much so, What can I say, if you believe it right for anyone, Catholic, separated brothers and sisters, or any one else who believe that the Holy Eucharist, the Body, Blood ,Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ is only a symbol and is not real and you receive him in Holy Mass you are committing serious sacrilege.
If you cannot accept what we are sharing with you here, if you believe we are wrong and that the Church is wrong, may I in all humility suggest you have the discussion with your parish priest, God Bless, Carlan
