rcn:
I see. So it’s OK for you to rant that I’m being “judgmental”, but somehow not OK for me to state that you’re clearly overreacting.
Uh-huh.
And by the way, may I remind everyone that posting of pictures here is frowned upon. They have enough trouble keeping their servers running as it is.
Since when???

They even offer advice on how to do it!
This was a good natured topic of conversation. Everyone is getting along.
There are those who are clearly for this tradition, and those clearly against.
I do not think it is very charitable to acuse someone of overreacting just because they have a differing opinion, :tsktsk: or accuse them of RANTING just because they called you on it. Let’s stick to discussing the pro’s and con’s of our little girls wearing veils during their sacrament of First Eucharist.
rcn, you make a great point in that the young girl should be allowed a say in what she wears for her special day. I agree, and I think Mom’s and other family members can offer special touches that make it a family affair.
I also would like to state my disdain for some situations where the whole sacrament is a “fashion show”. The focus is taken off the meaning of why we are there, and put on what we are wearing or the party and gifts afterward.
I think it is a fine line. We want our children to know that this is a special occasion and that they should be their “best” to receive Jesus for the first time. But we also want to impress upon them that Jesus is the MOST IMPORTANT part of this. Because we, as parents, need to be host to lots of family and friends who wish to be a part of this event, we plan dinners, and receptions, and maybe, ourselves, loose sight of the prize- our children’s first partaking of the Eternal Meal!
BTW I think it is a good idea to have a little “brag” session- so long as we abide by the rules of posting pictures and follow the guidlines above.
PS I admit, this image is larger than the requested size of 100 x 100 dpn, and the administrators have my apologies for this. But pictures in general, do not seem to be discouraged.
